Artists Among Us is one of my favorite parts of the L&W culture. It’s a chance for us to see inspirational creations from people from all branches of our L&W family tree. This year, we have148 pieces from 99 artists from eight different countries. Artists Among Us is a testament to the wide range of talent we have, and it gives us a chance to step back from our day-to-day work and appreciate one another in new ways.

I’m so proud to see some of the artwork on display in our offices, but our Virtual Gallery brings that experience to everyone. I look at every single image, and sometimes find myself going back to past galleries, if only for a moment of inspiration.

Artists Among Us is also a reminder to me that there are literally hundreds of creative ways to approach any issue. With just the simple prompt of “Light & Wonder,” I’m amazed at the wildly diverse and creative results that our Creators achieved. Look at what we can accomplish when we let our imaginations run wild!

Thanks to all of our Creators who contributed to Artists Among Us. And a particular thanks to all the AAU volunteers who coordinate the program and make it come to life for our company, both physically and virtually. It says so much about our culture that we have so many people volunteering their time just to help celebrate their coworkers’ creative spirit.

Enjoy the gallery and, as always, Game On!

A Message from Tracy Skenandore

I’m so honored to be part of the Artist Among Us as the programs executive sponsor.

Artists Among Us started in 2013. Dave Pryor and Steve Zotolo from our Chicago office founded the program as a music and visual art program to allow Creators to showcase their incredible artists talents that go beyond their daily job duties.

Within a couple years the cultural event organically spread from Chicago to Las Vegas to Sydney and London to Pune. Even more city expansions are planned in 2023. It has become a popular company-wide program that still holds to the original charter of allowing anyone who wants to participate a place to display their art regardless of skill level or job position.

With so many entries throughout the company, and from around the world, office gallery exhibits now focus first on local submissions and then gallery teams select representational pieces to fill out the physical art displays. Participating artists come from all different skill levels, job titles and backgrounds, utilizing many different media types.

Artists Among Us truly embodies our core values and the cultural perspectives that represent our diverse and talented workforce globally. I hope you enjoy perusing the creations of your fellow Creators.

Hey Everyone! Here we are at our 14th gallery exhibition and I am so proud that we have been celebrating individual creativity since our debut show in 2013. The AAU continues to be a passion project for me, and I am trilled each year to see what everyone creates. It’s exciting to inaugurate our Light & Wonder emergence with the “Manifest” showcase. Each piece portrays “Light and Wonder” through a unique lens. We continue to embrace the global and inclusive nature of Artists Among Us, where all Creators are welcome to be a part of the gallery. This show is filled with so many astounding pieces. Be sure to check out “Dragon Wonder Dream” by Ratan Bhaskar Bagul which has a wonderful dreamlike quality in this watercolor illustration. Anushree Jaiswal blew me away with the beautiful and delicate “Give Me Wings”, which nicely coincides with our Manifest butterfly theme. And Lulin Guo amazed me this year with her “Wonder In Blue”, an awe inspiring underwater illustration with detail to spare.

I want to thank my primary gallery co-developer in Communications, Jim Briare, for all the creative and logistical support; and give a huge welcome to the new gallery site leaders, Prince Payikattu in Pune, and Kristopher Franzen in London for stepping up and taking on the challenge of leading their local gallery events. A big thanks to Tracy Skenandore for stepping in as a champion of our efforts and growth this year. We make a great team!

Las Vegas Office Gallery

Manifest is our first Office Gallery exhibit in more than two years. It is such an honor for the Artists Among Us Gallery to be a stop on the many tours that come through our building in fabulous Las Vegas!

One of my favorite things about Artist Among Us is how each artist interprets the annual theme. Some look at the most literal elements and reflect, while others look at obscure concepts that challenge viewers to find new understandings.

Regardless of approach, when someone experiences all the voices and views coming together, they can’t help but be moved.

I also love how Artists Among Us is not an exclusive club of professional artists. The exhibits - and especially the Online Gallery - are open to everyone in the Company regardless of skill level, experience, or job title.

I’m thrilled to be a part of the annual Company tradition.

Manifest is the first exhibition we have put together in our London office, and it was a privilege to be able to take part in this great endeavour not only as an artist, but also as the organizer of the gallery.

As a Studio Manager I was positively surprised to see the amazing talent people around the globe have and seeing this come to fruition with such a wide range of artists and creativity was truly amazing. After launching the exhibition, I have had many engaging conversations with co-workers regarding future exhibitions and how they can take part.

I consider myself lucky to be part of an organization that create something so unique and beautiful as Artist Among Us. As an artist and creative, I cherish the fact that there is such much space and support for growing these efforts on a global scale.

I am extremely proud to be the organizer of Artist Among Us gallery in Pune, India. The fact that Pune is the 4th AAU gallery to be added makes it even more exiting.

Having a place locally to exhibit and celebrate the immense creativity of our Creators means a lot to us. The gallery in Pune has already become a sensation among all and even more Creators are now encouraged to be a part of future shows. It is a pleasure to see artwork from all over the globe, physically exhibited in one place. The gallery is indeed a showcase of the amazing talent pool that Light & Wonder has.

The gallery showcases a variety of mediums and approaches. It is amazing to see how different Creators are expressing the very same idea in their medium of choice and in their own unique way. That makes every single work of art so special and priceless. Anyone can be a part of AAU, and that inclusiveness shows how our organization views creativity of all kinds.

I am sure that more locations will open AAU galleries and share the same excitement that we are experiencing. All the very best to all Creators and keep inspiring!

Wonder in Blue

Digital

As I heard about the theme for this AAU, the first image that popped into my head was light rays shining through to the deep ocean floor. I never painted a full ocean scene before so I decided to run with the idea. A child of the sea on her journey to explore the unseen far away from her home...she gazes in wonder as strange things are revealed in front of her. The sight may be a bit scary, but she is nonetheless dazzled by its beauty illuminated by the light from above.

Creative Diversification

Digital drawing/painting

While individuals share their creative expressions with the world, creativity often takes on a personality of its own, guiding the spirit of relationships and projects. Creativity does not reside in specific types of individuals and cultures; it permeates through all dimensions of our collective consciousness, expressing itself from the micro to the macro, holding sway over all that is seen and unseen. Though some seek logical reductionist answers to problems, creativity finds its way even into the most rigid and calculative disciplines, asking the participants to channel and “Manifest” the best solution. Creativity is the answer to all things and is the expression of consciousness realizing itself in the infinite moments of now.

AI generated artwork

Chakras are thought to provide subtle energy that helps your organs, mind, and intellect work at their best level. The third eye is a mystical invisible eye, which is the highest chakra in the physical body, allowing it to provide visionary perspective. In fiction, a MacGuffin is an object, device, or event that is necessary to the plot and the motivation of the characters, but insignificant, unimportant, or irrelevant in itself. Penny and Amos Light and Wonder

Digital painting - Photoshop

I wanted to paint something in the fantasy genre that involved my dogs. Penny, the Australian Shepherd has been in many of my past works and this will be her 4th appearance. I got Amos in January and he is 10 months old and this is his first time in a painting. Since I’ve been designing dragons for Dragon Spin, I thought it would be fun to have them ride a dragon. Of course they would need a beautiful lady to accompany them on their adventure.

Wonder of Biodiversity and Conservation is a very important processes that support all life on Earth. Without a wide range of animals, plants and microorganisms, we cannot have a healthy ecosystem to provide us with the air we breathe and food we eat. ODIN

Digital Painting

When I was small, I was very fond of collecting comic books. Asterix and Obelix are my favorites. When I decided to design a character the Asterix character came to my mind. The helmet with wings resembles Odin, god of Vikings that lead me to design the Odin character. Odin was the great magician among the gods and was associated with runes. He was also the god of poets. In outward appearance he was a tall, old man, with flowing beard and only one eye (the other he gave in exchange for wisdom). He was usually depicted wearing a cloak and a wide-brimmed hat and carrying a spear.

Established in Western Sahyadri ranges of Maharashtra, India, Bhairavgad Fort is a dyke in geological language, a layer of rock that developed in a split of a pre-existing rock body. One of the toughest treks in the Maharashtra trail is highly exposed, and rock-cut steps are narrow. I love visiting this place especially in Monsoon season as this trek challenge your limits, goes through the thin jungle and ridges and passes through many flowering plants like ‘Karvi’. Once you reach the plateau you will see huge trees and a Bhairavnath temple. During monsoon this place feels like heaven with greenery all around, mini waterfalls, and if you are lucky, you can get a chance to see rainbows as well. The trail here during October is risky and is a once in a lifetime adventure.
