Mathematics (STEAM) education, workforce reentry programs, environmental sustainability initiatives, combating food insecurity, addressing houselessness and displacement, promoting Responsible Gaming, championing equal rights, supporting veterans and military family programs and providing disaster relief.

We’re committed to supporting charitable causes that not only resonate with our Creators, customers and stakeholders but align with the most pressing community and societal concerns in the areas where we work and live. We strive to make a tangible impact on local and global charities confronting today’s most critical needs. By offering vital monetary support, engaging in volunteer service and providing essential resources to populations facing poverty, food insecurities and other urgent inequities, we aim to address immediate priorities and promote sustainable solutions that uplift and empower our communities.

Each year, we survey Creators globally to elicit their input and identify areas where we should focus our philanthropic efforts across the organization. Based on Creator feedback, this year Light & Wonder focused our partnerships and charitable contributions on organizations that support the following causes and societal needs:

• Equal access to education: Providing programs and resources to ensure equal opportunities for access to quality education among all students and populations

• Environmental sustainability: Supporting initiatives that promote clean communities, protect natural environments and conserve precious resources

• Inclusion and social justice: Advocating for social justice initiatives while fostering diversity, equity and inclusion within Light & Wonder to foster a sense of belonging and become an employer of choice

• Workforce empowerment: Assisting under-resourced populations and individuals in entering, or reentering, the workforce through targeted development programs

• Hunger alleviation: Addressing food insecurity by providing resources and access to reliable meals for individuals and families facing this challenge globally

• Assisting unhoused individuals: Supporting shelter programs and populations experiencing housing insecurities in their journey toward societal reintegration and independence

• Military and veteran support: Providing support for military personnel, veterans and their families, offering the support they need after selflessly serving our country

• Disaster relief and crisis response: Extending assistance to regions impacted by natural disasters, wildfires or wartime crises to support recovery and rebuilding efforts

• Health and wellness: Promoting mental health and overall well-being among Creators and partnering with organizations that offer community resources for mental health and wellness support

Based on the types of charitable causes on the previous page, we focused our investments in these key areas and allocated funds equally across each area.

• Local and regional philanthropy: We support local charitable organizations in major markets where our Creators are deeply passionate, as well as grassroots causes within our communities. This includes organizations where Creators volunteer time and actively contribute through our Game Changers Volunteer Program, with an emphasis on the following regions:

- Americas, including Canada, Mexico, South America and United States

- Asia Pacific (APAC), including Australia, China and India

- Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), including Austria, Greece, Ireland, Malta, South Africa, Spain, Sweden and United Kingdom

We also provide financial support to relevant organizations during times of crisis. We’ve made significant donations to help those affected by various natural disasters, such as Hurricane Ida and the wildfires in Greece and

Diversity and marginalized communities initiatives: At the core of our charitable DEI initiatives is the belief in creating pathways for everyone in pursuit of a more equitable and just society. From increasing STEAM and creative arts education in under-resourced schools to supporting prominent equal rights organizations, such as the NAACP, or grassroots associations advocating for veterans or Indigenous communities, our philanthropic work strives to empower opportunity for all.

As part of our commitment to foster a diverse workforce, we also extend our support specifically to organizations that provide vital resources for the populations represented in each of our Employee Resource Groups (ERGs):

- Black and African American

- Women

- Latinx and Hispanic

- Asian American and Indigenous populations

- LGBTQ+

How our India teams are empowering opportunity

Light & Wonder India partnered with Chitraalaya Trust to empower women with physical and socioeconomic disadvantages. Our $5,000 donation funded sewing machines and training for 30 women, equipping them with valuable skills that foster autonomy and access to opportunity.

We’ve also launched multiple initiatives to empower children facing financial barriers to education. From student nominations by our Creators, we provided educational support to more than 100 students spanning elementary, secondary and graduate levels.

We additionally sponsored the higher education of 18 students pursuing degrees in Engineering and Technology, helping create opportunities to uplift communities from the cycle of poverty.

Our India team’s efforts extend to supporting unhoused and displaced children with disabilities. We provided transportation to ease access to regular health checkups and connect them with vital resources, such as medical exams and medications. We established a digital class at their shelter home to further support equal educational opportunities regardless of their level of ability.

• Environmental stewardship: We are committed to keeping our communities clean and safe. We take responsibility for our environmental impact, starting with our own operations. We ensure we maintain environmentally responsible practices throughout our organization, including areas such as manufacturing and fleet transportation, and are working to reduce our overall company carbon footprint.

To extend our impact, we partner with environmental sustainability programs, community cleanups and beautification projects. We are dedicated to enhancing clean water access for communities facing food insecurities, while actively advocating for the preservation and protection of natural resources. By aligning ourselves with these initiatives, we strive to create healthier, cleaner and safer environments for our Creators and communities worldwide.

• Global partnership: We believe in the power of collaboration and actively seek partnerships with regional causes that have a global reach. Through these alliances, we work alongside global charities to make substantial contributions toward meaningful causes. By leveraging the collective influence of key stakeholders, customers and Creators, we amplify our partnerships and ensure they align with our mission, vision and core values.

Our support for global causes in turn fosters a sense of community and shared values within our own company. It fuels strong engagement and an inclusive, collaborative culture committed to making lasting impacts.

A Culture Of Creator Volunteerism

We established the Light & Wonder Game Changers Volunteer Program to support activities that enhance Creator volunteerism, foster team bonding and support issues that impact the quality of life in the communities where we work and live. Our Creators can contribute up to eight hours per year of volunteer (paid) time off to volunteer at a local charitable organization of their choosing. From engaging in local book drives and community-wide days of giving to supporting unhoused students and advancing access to education, Light & Wonder Creators globally volunteered a combined 18,000 hours to impactful charitable causes in 2022.

As part of our 5-year CSR roadmap, we intend to increase Creator volunteerism from the current 8-hour allotment of volunteer time off to 12 hours by 2024 and increase Creator participation by 10% year over year.

OUR EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE FUND (EAF)

At Light & Wonder, we understand that our team’s ability to make a positive impact in the community begins with providing them the support they need within our organization.

As the global pandemic led to the closure of land-based gaming locations worldwide, our business needed to adapt. We recognized our Creators were navigating their own set of uncertainties and challenges — and needed support. To respond with the urgency the situation demanded, we swiftly established the EAF as a means of providing timely assistance to Creators facing hardships.

The fund was initiated with contributions from the company and personal donations from senior leadership. As awareness around the fund grew, our Creators also expressed their desire to contribute, leading us to partner with the Emergency Assistance Foundation and establish the EAF as a nonprofit organization.

We extend the opportunity to apply for grants from the EAF to all eligible Creators in various challenging situations, including impacts to their primary residence, damages caused by natural disasters, serious illness or injury, health care needs, violent crime, domestic abuse, the loss of an immediate family member or if they are part of a military family with an active-duty spouse on deployment. These grants may be used for essential expenses such as utilities, mortgage or rent payments, groceries and non-reimbursable medical expenses.

To provide easy access to the EAF, we established a dedicated public website where Creators can access information, review eligibility criteria and submit their application. To maintain fairness and transparency, all applications undergo a thorough review process by independent third-party EAF underwriters. Their expertise ensures that grants are awarded based on eligibility and need.

In 2022, Light & Wonder was proud to award 114 grants to Creators and their families, given in amounts ranging from $500 to $1,000 each. Together, these grants amounted to a significant total of $72,000 for the year.
