EMBRACE: LGBTQ+ CREATORS & ALLIES

In June 2022, EMBRACE members hosted an informative webinar on creating inclusive workspaces, focused on fostering safe and welcoming environments for the LGBTQ+ community. The webinar provided education and guidance on best practices for promoting inclusivity. To further enhance our Creators’ mutual understanding and respect, they hosted a follow-up session to address the proper use of pronouns.

In October, our EMBRACE members worldwide organized for their regional Pride events. Creators and their families celebrated Las Vegas PRIDE, marching in the parade and volunteering to run a booth showcasing Light & Wonder as an inclusive workplace. In Australia, Creators joined in a festive trivia event to kick off WorldPride.

• Diversity calendar: We launched an interactive diversity calendar as a resource for our Creators to learn more about our global teams’ ethnic groups and vibrant cultures. The calendar features special observances, religious celebrations and dates of recognition and commemoration.

We recognize more than 80 U.S. and global cultural observances each year, including Lunar New Year, Black History Month, International Transgender Day of Visibility and International Day of Women and Girls in Science.

Virtual community engagement platform

We established a partnership with Visit.org, a virtual engagement platform that prioritizes social impact experiences. Creators can access educational resources, connect with volunteer opportunities on a global scale and participate in virtual events that foster a culture of inclusivity and continuous learning.

Learning & Development

We recognize the importance of providing comprehensive DEI training opportunities to our Creators, as they serve as the foundation for greater awareness and understanding of the importance of these priorities and how they shape our organizational culture. The Learning & Development workstream fuels initiatives focused on providing comprehensive DEI training opportunities to our Creators worldwide. By investing in ongoing learning, we empower our Creators with the knowledge, skills and tools they need to embrace diversity, challenge biases and celebrate the unique contributions of each team member, cultivating an environment where everyone feels valued and supported.

Our Learning & Development accomplishments from the last year have included:

• Creating an education program to introduce and reinforce Creator knowledge of DEI principles

• Establishing standardized guidelines for inclusive language to ensure that Creators and business leaders across the globe use appropriate, thoughtful messaging

• Clearly documenting company policies associated with our DEI commitments

• Setting a goal to achieve 90% participation in the DEI education programs and trainings by 2025

• Scheduling and facilitating DEI courses through purpose-based online learning platforms, LinkedIn Learning and MindGym

• Implementing Best Hire and Unconscious Bias trainings for all members of the recruiting team

• Launching a new on-demand learning platform for all Creators to access globally

• Providing continuous training to all managers, including:

- Intentional Inclusive Leadership: Emphasizing the importance of DEI for your team and implementing strategies to create a culture where everyone belongs

- Subtle Biases & Microaggressions: Examining how seemingly minor actions can inhibit inclusivity

SOMOS: LATINX CREATORS & ALLIES

In September 2022, SOMOS hosted a virtual interactive Latinx dance class, facilitated by Artivism Dance Theatre, a nonprofit organization raising social awareness through dance. Attendees had the opportunity to learn popular dances — such as salsa, merengue and bachata — while fostering cultural understanding of the history and importance of Latin dance.

SPOTLIGHT BIG (Back in the Game) Initiative in India

To empower women in the workplace, we launched a new initiative in India to reintegrate women alumni who have left our workforce in the last five years. In December 2022, we implemented a successful pilot program with our Systems team in Bengaluru and Chennai that offers a guided transition back into Light & Wonder.

Diversity In Our Supply Chain

As much as we strive for diversity in our workforce, Light & Wonder is equally committed to developing strong and meaningful connections with diverse suppliers that share our values. It’s not just about ticking boxes; we genuinely believe in building strong relationships that reflect our commitment to inclusivity.

Across our supply chain, we are dedicated to promoting transparency and sustainability in all our business practices. We hold ourselves to the highest standards of integrity, honesty and fairness in every aspect of our work. We are unwavering in our commitment to compliance and have zero tolerance for any form of human rights violations, including modern slavery and human trafficking.

Our suppliers are integral to our continued success, and it is essential that they align with our commitment to strong ethical standards and performance. Together, we can foster a business ecosystem that reflects our shared values and drives positive change.

In line with our focus on upholding high standards, Light & Wonder is committed to complying with the Dodd-Frank Act’s disclosure requirements concerning conflict minerals. We place great importance on this issue and expect all our suppliers to support our efforts in meeting these disclosure requirements. This policy applies to all products manufactured as well as those contracted to be manufactured by or on behalf of Light & Wonder and our subsidiaries, regardless of the location.

WE EXPECT SUPPLIERS TO ADHERE TO THE FOLLOWING GUIDELINES:

Complete Light & Wonder’s Conflict Minerals survey accurately and thoroughly, identifying any products they sell to Light & Wonder or our subsidiaries that may contain Conflict Minerals

Cooperate fully with any country-of-origin due diligence conducted by Light & Wonder

Provide all reasonably available information to complete the country-of-origin diligence certification required by Light & Wonder, which includes providing details regarding the origin and chain of custody of Conflict Minerals in their products

By working together to ensure compliance, we can contribute to responsible sourcing practices and promote greater accountability throughout the supply chain.

Diversifying Our Partners

Through Light & Wonder’s newly established supplier diversity program, we are dedicated to actively engaging with certified-diverse suppliers. This program forges proactive business partnerships with a wide range of suppliers, including those owned by minorities, women, veterans and individuals with disabilities and those who are under-resourced as well as other small and HUBZone businesses. Beyond demonstrating our commitment to inclusion, these partnerships also help stimulate economic development, foster innovation and grow our supplier networks to drive our competitive advantage.

Our goal is to collaborate with partners who demonstrate a commitment to excellence, providing high-quality materials and services that meet and exceed the needs of our internal operations and customers. Each supplier we partner with through the program has been certified by a third-party organization, such as its respective state government agencies, the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC), the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) or the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO).

Our dedicated Procurement team oversees all Light & Wonder’s procurement-related supplier diversity initiatives. This team is responsible for reaching out to diverse suppliers and developing programs that promote awareness and education. For example, Light & Wonder actively participates at State Business Opportunity Fairs throughout the U.S., which are designed to identify and explore additional opportunities for diverse suppliers to support our operations.

The Procurement team also leads Light & Wonder’s response to customer requests for proposals that include diversity requirements. They are responsible for ensuring compliance with these requirements and oversee the periodic reporting obligations associated with customer diversity agreements.

Our supplier diversity program aims to achieve the following objectives:

• Maintain a quality process to incorporate certified and valued diverse suppliers in our supply chain

• Monitor and report all supplier diversity achievements

• Develop new and innovative ways to leverage the capabilities of diverse suppliers within our supply chain

• Partner with diverse supplier advocacy organizations and state entities to advance the growth and expansion of goods and services from qualified diverse businesses

• Align with purpose-driven suppliers that share our commitment to environmental sustainability, diversity and philanthropy

As we continuously search for the best solutions for our customers, we’ve found that working with diverse suppliers is often key. That’s why our supplier diversity program is so critical to our success. It not only helps us meet customer needs but also creates economic opportunities for our suppliers and contributes to the growth of the communities they support, driving positive outcomes for everyone.

Breaking Down The Numbers

2022 was a transformational year for Light & Wonder with the divestiture of the Lottery division, formerly known as Scientific Games. We have since rebranded as Light & Wonder and have transitioned our company as the leading cross-platform global games company. As a result, we have established a new baseline for our diverse supplier spend, which serves as the foundation for our ongoing efforts.

In 2022 alone, Light & Wonder invested approximately $59.4 million in Tier 1 direct spend with diverse business enterprises nationwide. Across states where we operate, our dedication to fostering diversity and inclusion is even more evident. In many states where we operate, such as Illinois, Light & Wonder’s total spend with businesses amounted to roughly $165.2 million. Out of this total, we allocated $16.6 million, or 10.09%, to diverse suppliers.

Investing In A More Diverse Future

In the coming years, Light & Wonder is committed to further strengthening our relationships with diverse suppliers and increasing the percentage of our spend with diverse suppliers. We plan to expand opportunities with our existing diverse suppliers as well as actively seek out and partner with new diverse suppliers.

We encourage potential diverse suppliers to visit our supplier diversity website, where they can explore our program, certification specifics and the areas of procurement that are most frequently in demand.

In the last decade, Light & Wonder has proudly contributed $553 million in spending toward diverse businesses.

We invite all suppliers interested in registering to be part of Light & Wonder’s supplier diversity program to join our national database by completing the Supplier Diversity Application Form. Together, we can build strong, sustainable partnerships that fuel innovation, economic mobility and meaningful societal change.
