Recruiting & Talent Acquisition

The DEI Task Force’s Recruiting & Talent Acquisition workstream is committed to attracting diverse talent. The workstream is intended to expand our outreach and connect with a broader pool of diverse talent prospects, especially from student populations. Through their efforts, we create internship opportunities and offer full-time post-graduation positions within our organization. To fill these positions, we collaborate closely with our University Relations managers to participate in campus events, such as career fairs and internship programs. These engagements allow us to connect with a wide range of student groups and identify talented individuals who align with our organization’s values and goals.

Notably, in 2021 we sponsored the University of Nevada, Las Vegas’ STEM Career Fair and its Lee Business School’s recruiting events throughout the year. We connected with hundreds of students and prospective candidates to raise awareness around job opportunities in the gaming industry and highlight the rewarding career possibilities within our organization.

In the past year, our recruiting efforts have yielded significant accomplishments, including:

• Crafting more inclusive job descriptions that attract and resonate with underrepresented talent

• Partnering with PowerToFly, an online resource that facilitations connections with diverse talent and expands our network of potential candidates

• Introducing a new internal policy that prioritizes promotions from within the organization, fostering advancement opportunities for current Creators

• Establishing an Internal Mobility Career Site and job board to promote career development and facilitate job transitions within the company

• Providing trainings and implementing operational procedures to support our Diverse Slate policy that ensures equal opportunities for diverse candidates to be considered and interviewed

Retention & Belonging

We’re committed to building a workplace where everyone’s voice is heard and valued — within our own organization and extending into communities that have helped us get where we are today.

Driven by the efforts of our Retention & Belonging workstream, we provide educational pathways, facilitate engagement programs and curate special events that celebrate a diversity of perspectives. By creating opportunities for our Creators to connect and exchange valuable insights, we are actively cultivating a strong community that promotes fairness and inclusivity for all.

Recent highlights from our ERGs

ILLUMINATE: BLACK CREATORS & ALLIES

Members of ILLUMINATE organized an “I Have a Dream” campaign to share visions of a brighter and better future. By creating and sharing vision boards, videos and posts, Creators connected over a shared sense of purpose to fuel positive social change, culminating with a donation to the MLK center.

In February 2022, ILLUMINATE hosted a panel of Black leaders from across the gaming industry in a discussion around “Hot Topics in Gaming.” The panel explored pivotal challenges facing suppliers and operators, offering their distinctive insights into how Black Creators, gamers, developers and enthusiasts can advance in the industry.

As part of our work to enhance Creator engagement, we launched the following initiatives:

• Inclusive game design experience:

In honor of Black History Month, our Urban Arts Partnership organized a virtual event to highlight the importance of inclusive representation in game design. Through an interactive activity, our team created personalized avatars, sparking a meaningful discussion about the power of shaping our distinct digital identities.

• Pride T-shirt design contest: In 2021, we hosted our first Pride T-shirt Design Contest, providing Creators with a creative outlet to showcase their talents and express support for the LGBTQ+ community. Our winning design was created by Edward Wall III in Las Vegas and was distributed to all Creators to wear during Pride Month.

Building on the first year’s success, we organized the second-annual Pride T-shirt contest in coordination with our EMBRACE ERG. In 2022, we proudly placed Mohammad Jafar’s winning design on company shirts for all our Creators to wear as a symbol of solidarity and celebration.
