Preaction What is HSE, why is it important and what do you know about HSE in your future job?
Workplace safety (HSE) Putting profit before safety can have terrible consequences. Unfortunately, some employers may consider health, safety and environment (HSE) as only a legal requirement that means spending money and time. Creating a workplace where workers are safe on the job and a culture where safety is a core value is a shared responsibility between the employer and the employees.
HOW TO ENSURE HSE AT WORK
Paying attention on the job is vitally important for all employees, especially those who are working with people in healthcare or kindergartens, are operating machinery or are working around power tools, motor vehicles and dangerous liquids. Employers are responsible for providing a safe work environment, while employees can take steps to protect themselves and others at work. For instance, safety performance decreases as employees become tired, but still many employees report an average of less than six hours of sleep a night.
