Staying on track can be difficult, especially if your motivation is low. Taking action will help you set goals and make a plan. It will also help you cooperate with your classmates to find solutions to problems you might face. Our aim is for you to continue to make plans throughout the year and to continue to discuss obstacles and solutions with your classmates and your teacher.
First of all, it is important that you think about your motivation for learning English and how it can help you on your road to success. First, brainstorm individually and write as much as you can for ten minutes about the following: → My English: What do I need it for at school and in life? How can English help me succeed? → My possibilities: What about me and my surroundings can help me reach my goals in English? → My challenges: What about me and my surroundings can hinder me from reaching my goals in English? Second, gather in groups and brainstorm on the following questions: → How can we use English in the future? → What can help us improve our English? → What are some typical obstacles for learning English and how can we overcome them as we work towards our goals? Create a list of obstacles and solutions on how to overcome them. Third, present your solution by making a creative poster, Vurderingseksemplara film, a Photo Story, a presentation or something similar. Share your results in class and summarise in a joint class solution board.
