**Paris District High School collected another A.A.B.H.N championship title (above). The Girls Varsity Fastball team hit their way to victory at Green Lane Sports Complex. Paris beat BCI 12-3 (pictured above). **About 1,600 elementary school students from across the Grand Erie region got to try their hand at skilled trades during the Epic Jobs 2023 event held on May 24, hosted by the Workforce Planning Board of Grand Erie.
**The Paris FC U16 girls travelled to Barrie for Barrie Spiritfest and were in a tough 5-team group. With a four-game round robin start, plus a championship game, it was a gruelling tournament and Paris persevered to bring home the Gold medal! (pictured above). **Hosted by the Ontario Truck and Tractor Pull Association, the Super Pull & Historic Expo drew a great attendance of around 1,500 people as spectators caught a glimpse of the uniquely modified Bits N Pieces (pictured), Anger Management and Rock Mafia to name a few. Funds collected through the cost of admission will be used to upgrade infrastructure and general maintenance of facilities at the Paris Fairgrounds
**The Brant County Health Unit issued a special air quality statement for Brantford-Brant following a series of devastating wildfires across Canada. The media release stated, poor air quality, with moderate to high-risk Air Quality Health Index (AQHI) values are expected through most of the week locally. **The annual Teddy Bear Picnic, hosted by the Kiwanis Club of Paris-Brant, brought lots of laughter **In more Paris business news, El Thrift relocates to and joy to the Paris Fairgrounds. Hundreds gathered, William Street and celebrates grand reopening with along with their teddy bears, to participate in some Mayor David Bailey.
