**A group of students from PDHS participated in a planned walkout in protest of Bill 23, More Homes Built Faster Act, 2022 The walkout was organized by Grade 11 student Isaac Halsey and included members of the school’s Eco Club. Halsey said his biggest concern is that Bill 23 will result in more housing, but not the type of housing that will positively affect the current housing crisis

**County of Brant Council is thrilled to announce the appointment of the new Chief Administrative Officer: Alison Newton.

**The President of the Brant Community Health Care System is asking for the County’s support in creating a redevelopment fund to financially contribute its share towards massive expansion plans for the Brantford General Hospital & Willett Urgent Care Centre over the next 10 years Once completely renovated, the Willett’s main floor will house the Urgent Care Centre, diagnostic imaging, renal home training clinic rooms, dialysis satellite centre and 20 residential beds The upper level will house the chronic disease management clinics, and 32 residential beds (existing) The lower level will include staff and clinical education rooms, ambulatory care classes, activity area for residents, staging and kitchen for resident meals and program offices/staff support.

**The 11th Annual Maple Syrup Festival, hosted by the Paris Lions Club, returned after a two-year Covid hiatus Organizers were very excited to present this year’s event on April 8th They served up over 1,500 pancakes and sold over 60 litres of Maple Syrup!

**A trip to the Brant Sports Complex was reminiscent of a trip to the Cineplex Odeon as the Paris Figure Skating Club took the audience to a Night at the Movies for their year end Gala performance About 75 skaters laced up and donned costumes as a fun celebration to end the 2022-2023 fall/winter season.

**Mayor David Bailey was just one of many guests in attendance during last weekend’s performances of Hindsight is 2020 – A Covid Musical, presented by area children at St. Paul’s United Church (Pictured top right) The cast presented a true story of Covid and its impact on our youth during two shows. The musical was written by Christopher Mallon and presented by a cast of 12 children ages 11-15 The hour-long musical blended a variety of music styles and influences and explored themes of family, friendship, bullying, racism, loneliness, and identity The cast and crew included: Mikayla MacDonald, Ahana Kulkarni, Hudson Tranmer, Sullivan IonCiccotelli, Lillianna MacDonald, Scarlett Macbride, Mo Pickles, Waverleigh McDonald, Chloe Glory, Ben Pickles, Abigail MacDonald and Brooklyn O’Krafka.
