**Demolition begins on the 75year-old Paris Lawn Bowling Clubhouse to make way for a brand new, net-zero building at an estimated cost of $1 3 to $1 6 million The existing Clubhouse built in 1948 but was eventually turned over to the Town of Paris for $1 when membership dwindled, and the lawn bowling club could no longer afford the upkeep in 1986. Plans for the new clubhouse were unveiled last fall. The new multiuse community centre will be home to the Lawn Bowling Club, Paris Seniors Club and open to additional programming/activities.

**The County of Brant, in collaboration with Brant Municipal Enterprises, announces that it has replaced a number of streetlights in the Highland Estates neighbourhood with new off-grid street lighting. In a September issued media release, it stated with the completion of this project, the County of Brant is poised to become a trailblazing municipality, boasting one of Canada's most extensive networks of off-grid street lighting.
**After five days of beautiful weather, lots of thrills, excitement and plenty of smiles, the Paris Agricultural Society sent a thank you to everyone who attended the 166th Paris Fair and HUGE thank you to all volunteers. Debuting this year, the country show spanned two nights instead of one. Tim Hicks’ performance on Saturday night was a clear crowd pleaser. He drew one of the largest crowds in recent history. And a local baby won the Paris Fair Baby Contest on Monday, September 4th . Hunter Struthers was named Grand Champion Baby. Kylie Vanderhoek was crowned the 2023 Paris Fair Ambassador


**The Brant Community Healthcare System (BCHS) announces that construction has begun on the Brantford General Hospital Emergency Department (ED). This project, anticipated to last approximately three years, will take place in the current ED and will include considerable works on the exterior of the facility adjacent to the EMS entry/exit and ED pedestrian exit off Terrace Hill Street.
**Significant reconstruction on a block of downtown businesses begins as Northern Rudder Holdings Inc, owners of 5, 7, 9 and 11 Grand River Street North, undertakes an extensive renovation to the old buildings The redevelopment project is anticipated to be completed in 12 to 15 months, with a target completion date in the fall or early winter of 2024.
**Presidents of Paris, Burford, St. George and Ayr Minor Hockey centres announced in late August that they are in initial talks to combine their rep programs to form the Brant Waterloo Minor Hockey Association This new centre, not proposed until the 2024/2025 season, will give kids the chance to play the highest caliber of hockey available within their region. Each membership held a vote and it was announced in November that the plan was supported.
