**The inaugural (Unofficial Official) Paris Pride celebration pop up over three days and it was amazing to see this type of grassroots energy be accepted, attended and supported by the individuals, local businesses and the community at large; it was invigorating to feel a different kind of Paris pride. Paris Pride 2023 spanned over three days and had a focus on: connecting, celebrating and reflecting - three core things for better mental, physical and spiritual health.
**The Paris Mounties PJHL Hockey Team announces an official change in ownership Over the past several months, Todd Wood, Owner and President of the Paris Mounties, had decided to take a step back from the dayto-day operation of the Team and began to consider select bids to purchase the PJHL franchise After an extensive review process, Titan Hockey Canada, LLC was selected to take over ownership of the franchise following the PJHL board approval on May 26th 2023. Titan Hockey Canada is led by owners Mike Christian and Jon Clark both originally from the Hamilton/Ancaster area. Continued on page 23

In last week’s Paris Independent, the photo accompanying the story about the Paris Horticulture Society Christmas dinner contained an error. The President’s Award to Pat Moore was for organizing the Flower Show, not the annual plant sale.
