**Welcome to Paris, Oghenejite (Jite) Joelle Joshua! Proud parents Oluwayemisi and James Joshua share their joy as they welcomed their third child on January 3rd at 10:47 am, officially becoming Paris’ first New Years baby.

**The County of Brant Public Library announces “Ridgerunner” by Gil Adamson, a 2020 Writers’ Trust Fiction Prize Winner and also shortlisted for the Scotiabank Giller Prize, as this year’s One Book One Brant Selection.

**New restaurant Arepa Love is capturing the hearts of Paris residents one bite at a time. The eatery, located on Grand River Street North (just behind the barricaded construction zone) celebrates its grand opening.

**The Rotary Satellite Club of Paris hosts a successful and Inaugural Priceless Art Auction on January 27th, 2023, at the Wincey Mills.

**The day-to-day operations of the Raw Carrot Soup Enterprise became a little easier thanks to a major donation from the Rotary Club of Brantford-Sunrise and an anonymous donor. It enabled them to purchase a 10 by 12-foot walk in freezer. The Rotary Club contributed $5,000 towards the $30,000 freezer, through a Rotary Foundation grant, and the remainder was footed by the anonymous donor

**The Paris Performers Theatre celebrated its 30th anniversary and kicked off the season with two special nights featuring both drag and improv!

**A new community group - Paris Ontario Residents for Community Harmony (P.O.R.C.H.) – launches and invites new members.

**Close to 200 residents filled seats at the Mile Hill Road Public Information session hosted by the County of Brant on January 11 at the Brant Sports Complex. Consultants from the IBI Group presented a slideshow explaining proposed changes they feel will make Mile Hill safer for all users. Concerned citizens who live on Mile Hill Road upset county did not consult with them and say proposed changes will in fact make the road more dangerous
