He embraces his role as an advocate for all aspects of Southeastern.

"The College of Business leadership, faculty and staff are at the forefront of developing cutting edge, impactful programs, and preparing our next generation of leaders. Their students and alumni set the standard for engagement. I'm enthusiastic about what is to come for the College of Business."
-Dr. William Wainwright
AACSB accreditation is the most respected accreditation for colleges of business across the globe. Only 194 institutions in the world have both AACSB business accreditation and separate AACSB accreditation of their accounting program. Southeastern's College of Business recently participated in a rigorous review by AACSB and earned top marks resulting in continued extension of its AACSB Accreditation for both business programs and the accounting program. The review involved an on-site visit by the AACSB Peer Review Team who held meetings with faculty, students, alumni, and community stakeholders. The college was evaluated based on a set of standards related to criteria such as strategic management, innovation, teaching, learning, and placement of students, and engagement of faculty, staff, and students
According to Stephanie M Bryant, AACSB global executive vice president and chief accreditation officer of AACSB, “every AACSB-accredited school has demonstrated a focus on excellence in all areas, including teaching, research, curricula development, and student learning. The intense peer-review process exemplifies their commitment to quality business education.” AACSB review occurs every five years to ensure continuous improvement.
CoB Dean Tará Lopez met with US Senator Bill Cassidy to hear his plans for supporting Southeastern and our region. We are thankful for the Senator's recognition of the outstanding talent coming out of the Southeastern College of Business.

KaelieRobichaux - During the 2023 Community Bank Case Study Competition, the Conference of State Bank Supervisors granted college students an opportunity to enhance their financial intuition and gain familiarity in managerial and technological disciplines During the study, Dr. Danielle Lewis and Dr. Matthew Crook advised Team Southeastern, which consists of four Finance students: Dylan Lacoste, Justin Mata, Brooke Leboeuf, and Kaelie Robichaux (photo above). The team chose First Guaranty Bank (FGB) as their partner for this year’s competition. In addition to the required financial analysis, the 2023 topic focused on staffing and technological developments in a competitive, post-pandemic job market. The team distributed a survey to CoB students to measure the incoming talent’s job preferences. Also, through a series of interviews with FGB executives, bank regulators, attorneys, and others, Team Southeastern crafted an informative video and a prepared twenty-five-page analysis which was submitted to the competition
Students Evan Gibson, Jonathan Taylor, & Philencia Hillard placed in the top 10 in the Southeast Region in the CFA Institute Research Challenge earning them a spot to compete in the US 2023 Southwest Regional Competition at Texas State University Student teams assume the role of a research analyst guided by finance faculty, Dr. John Cresson. The marketing faculty welcomed Associate Professor Dr. Tim Butler to Southeastern, previously at the University of North Alabama. They also welcomed Ms. Cally Berner, formerly director of event and conference services at Southeastern, in the role of full time instructor. The Marketing faculty was active within the community in multiple ways this year. Faculty members held presentations on digital marketing and search engine optimization at the Robotics Mentoring Extravaganza, an event that brought together hundreds of high school students interested in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. In May, at the American Marketing Association International Collegiate Conference in New Orleans, Southeastern faculty members Dr. Juliana White and Ms. Cally Berner served as judges for the Marketing Strategy, Best Recruitment and Social Impact Video, and the Wall Street Journal Case Study Competition. Dr. Tim Butler, served as President-elect of AMA's Collegiate Chapter Council and managed the pitch and sales competitions.
The CoB partnered with the College of Science and Technology to introduce a 100% online MBA program with a focus on managing technology decision-making (MITech MBA) As we know, technology adoption increased significantly due to the Covid-19 pandemic With these changes, job expectations of managers in non-technology areas have expanded to include managing technology decisions. This has created a skills gap in many companies’ leadership pipelines that Southeastern's MITech MBA will fill
Tech savvy managers are needed to navigate the challenges and opportunities, recognize opportunities for data-driven decision making, innovations in supply chain and ordering, and modernizing processes Such managers can also serve to champion new technology adoption and build a culture that is receptive to change. Program graduates will be better prepared to make managerial decisions that evolve as technology evolves Classes are offered in 8-week terms and the program can be completed in one year The program launches Fall of 2023. Contact mba@southeastern.edu or 985-549-2258 for more info.

The Management faculty were tasked with re-imagining the Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management concentration this year In support of this effort, the college supported Dr Xiaodan Zeng in attending the Price-Babson Symposium for Entrepreneurship Educators Hosted by Babson College, the nation’s leading school in entrepreneurship, the symposium is an intensive week-long workshop where educators learn best practices and teaching methods through action-based learning. Dr. Zeng’s experience brought valuable new insights to bear on the Entrepreneurship program. As a result faculty developed and introduced bold revisions to the curriculum to better address the needs of students in the program These revisions included the development of several new courses designed to better prepare students in important areas of entrepreneurship, including conception and funding of new ventures. In addition, a new project-based capstone class will allow students to learn from experiential projects and cases.
Multiple curricular changes in Economics have helped move the program in the direction emphasized by our Advisory Board as being important for our students’ careers. This includes a shift to a curriculum that is more skills-based. To this end, faculty developed and introduced two new courses in Business Economics and revised existing courses to better prepare students for employment
The contributions of several faculty members deserve recognition. Dr. Lara Gardner was asked to join Louisiana’s Department of Children and Family Services in conducting an audit and update of its guidelines. In recognition of his efforts in the classroom, Dr. Scott Burns was selected to serve on the Center for Faculty Excellence’s Teaching Excellence Team and attended the Teaching Professors Conference in June.

In the Spring, Marketing 442 (Advanced Advertising) worked with Hammond native, Kristin Anderson, managing partner of PathWerk, a marketing research firm in Atlanta specializing in the home improvement industry One of her clients is Winia, the largest appliance producer in Korea While they have been an OEM for other appliance brands in the US for the past 25 years, they are in their infancy in marketing the Winia brand in the US. Four marketing student teams collaborated with teams from the communications department's video production class to produce a campaign for the Winia Retro line.
