BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION PROGRAM UPDATE

Multiple curricular changes in Economics have helped move the program in the direction emphasized by our Advisory Board as being important for our students’ careers. This includes a shift to a curriculum that is more skills-based. To this end, faculty developed and introduced two new courses in Business Economics and revised existing courses to better prepare students for employment

The contributions of several faculty members deserve recognition. Dr. Lara Gardner was asked to join Louisiana’s Department of Children and Family Services in conducting an audit and update of its guidelines. In recognition of his efforts in the classroom, Dr. Scott Burns was selected to serve on the Center for Faculty Excellence’s Teaching Excellence Team and attended the Teaching Professors Conference in June.
