Environment! Use a suitable container to collect the engine oil as it drains and dispose of it in an environmentally friendly manner! max min
Fill up the engine oil as follows: • Clean the area around oil filler cap B with a lint-free cloth • Open filler cap B • Pull out oil dipstick A and wipe it with a lint-free cloth • Fill in engine oil • Wait a moment until all the oil has run into the oil sump • Check the oil level with oil dipstick A – see Checking the engine oil level on page 313 • Fill up oil if necessary and check the oil level again

Close filler cap B and completely remove all oil spills from the engine

Changing engine oil Danger! Caution when draining hot oil:
Danger of burns! Wear protective gloves! Use suitable tools, e.g. for unscrewing the oil drain plug 1! Change the oil as follows: Park the machine on level ground • Let the engine run until it reaches operating temperature (oil temperature about 80 °C) • Stop the engine Place container for collecting the oil under the engine
