The journey SouthRoads has been on during the term of this NOC contract for Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency has been peppered by challenges. We have rolled with the punches, while still delivering quality on time and on budget – every time. We have dragged ourselves up from a minimum ‘pass’ with the Agency to achieving a perfect KRA score, and improved customer satisfaction by 56 percent in the process. We have built solid, enduring, collaborative relationships with the client, iwi, stakeholders and the communities we operate in. We have remained agile, pivoting in response to concerns, leading to

mutually beneficial outcomes. We have supported our communities by partnering with local firms in Southland, including McDonough Contracting and Carran Scott Contracting. We have won a national award from the client for innovation. Locally, we have taken out the award for Excellence in Environmental projects. We have been fiscally responsible, successfully managing the asset over the life of the contract to the best outcomes within the budget available. Our success is due to our ability to challenge ourselves and our team to constantly innovate, improve, engage and deliver. We understand that we are one part of a bigger picture - “He waka eke noa” – we’re all in this together.
