The Masterton Skate Park Redevelopment Project has recently been completed by Hunter Civil.
The project, which was completed in February 2022 for under $2 million dollars, is a great community asset.
The client was the Masterton District Council, the design was completed by RICH Landscapes (of Auckland) and construction completed by Hunter Civil of Christchurch. CF Projects completed the contract administration/ management on behalf of the client and also undertook independent Quality Assurance inspections.
The project began in May 2021 and spanned across the 2021 winter and spring/summer of 21/22. This added to the many challenges of the project, including managing the impacts of Covid-19 illness and national lockdowns.
As with nearly all projects there was a limited budget but a big wishlist. We believe that through careful management, construction smarts, value engineering and design detailing we were able to manage the budget and deliver as many of the wishes as possible.
Both the client and the local skateboarding community were rapt with the final product and Masterton now has one of the ‘to visit’ skateparks in New Zealand.
