Fletcher Construction’s purpose is to make places better for generations to come, and the only way we can do that is by supporting our people.

Our company’s focus on the learning and development of staff begins with our early in career programmes. This starts with students still in school, with our Rangatahi Engagement initiative. We also offer a variety of early in career programmes including Gateway, Apprenticeships, and the highly regarded Fletcher Construction Intern and Graduate Programmes.

Another Fletcher Construction goal is to support the careers of our wāhine. We’re aiming

127 CIVIL INDUSTRY TRAINING AWARDS 2022 CCNZ / CONNEXIS to attract more women into construction with our involvement in the Girls With High-Vis programme. For women already with Fletcher Construction, we have the Women in Construction programme, and we’re developing careers to the highest level with our Women to Leadership programme. These programmes have had a positive impact on our female apprentice and industry trainee numbers, as well as percentage of women in leadership positions. Whether it’s formal qualifications through workbased learning, or gaining knowledge through our in-house programmes, we strive to ensure there is an education pathway for every single person working at Fletcher Construction. 3
