L
a lunga e affascinante storia del Teatro inizia nel Seicento, quando venne costruita una piccola cappella funeraria, poi trasformata, nel corso del Settecento, nella chiesa del Carmine. Nel 1814, in età napoleonica, fu convertita in spazio teatrale. Oggi è punto di riferimento culturale e artistico di tutta la comunità. Recentemente restaurato, offre, unico sull’Isola, importanti appuntamenti teatrali e musicali anche di livello internazionale.

he Theatre’s long and fascinating history began in the 17th Century, with the building of a small chapel of rest, later transformed during the 18th Century into a Carmelite church.

In 1814, under Napoleon, it was converted into a theatre. Today it is a cultural and artistic centre of the entire community. Recently restored, it is the only location on the Island which hosts major theatrical and musical events, even attracting international stars.
