Terrance Orr
’12 Terrance Orr currently holds the position of entrepreneur-in-residence at SAP.iO, the startup studio and venture arm of SAP, which focuses on investing in small entrepreneurial teams to create and launch products from the ground up. In this role, Terrance is tasked with exploring, evaluating, and incubating solutions for significant challenges in enterprise software. He leverages SAP's unique position and distinct data sources to drive innovation and transform industries. Prior to his role at SAP.iO, Orr served as a Venture Capital Fellow at Eonxi Ventures, a startup studio and venture fund specializing in eSports, gaming, and immersive technology. He also guided earlystage companies on business development and growth while working with Techstars Chicago, a global seed accelerator that supports entrepreneurs across 150+ countries. Orr actively contributes to the entrepreneurial landscape as an advisory board member at The Entrepreneurial Suite and a Venture Partner at Republic. His achievements include being recognized as one of the Top 30 Under 30 by HBCUBuzz and earning the title of 31 Under 31 in Venture Capital by HBCUvc.
Orr was recently honored as a Fellow for the Black Venture Institute, an executive education program for venture and angel investors co-created by UC-Berkeley's Haas School of Business, Operator Collective, and Salesforce Ventures. Before dedicating himself to supporting founders and fostering entrepreneurial ecosystems, Orr spent several years in the Northeast, where he held roles at Dell Technologies in Product Management, Business Development, and Strategic Consulting. His time at Dell EMC was marked by his reputation as an "intrapreneur" due to his contributions to starting new business functions, conceptualizing innovative business models, and leading post-merger integration projects during the largest technology acquisition in history, the merger of Dell and EMC. Orr is a proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., and has previously served as the president of the alumni chapter in Rhode Island. He holds degrees from the Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law, the Feinstein Graduate School at Johnson & Wales University, and Claflin University. 35
