Outstanding Leaders Under 40 Jo Cabey

Jo Cabey, a native of the Caribbean Island of Montserrat, is a first-generation American citizen. She is proud to call the Bronx, New York, her home. Cabey earned a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications from Claflin University and a Masters in the Art of Elementary Teaching. She is a math instructional coach for students in grades Pre-K through 5 and an adjunct professor of elementary education.

Cabey will continue her education in the prestigious Summer Principals Academy at Columbia University, where she will pursue a Master of Education in Public School Building Leadership.

In addition to her academic career, Cabey is a prolific author with two self-published books. "Jada's Diary: From Growing Pains to Found Promise" is a work of fiction inspired by her own life. "Attitude of Gratitude: 90 Days to Win at Being Grateful" is a journal that encourages daily reflection on gratitude.

In her leisure time, Cabey's passions extend to outdoor activities such as hiking, cycling, and the culinary arts. She cherishes moments spent with her family and friends and has a penchant for live concerts and Broadway shows. Her adventurous spirit has led her to explore more than 40 countries, making her an experienced globetrotter.

Cabey's online presence, initially rooted in her travel blog, "Journey With Jo," has blossomed into Journey With Jo LLC, a platform through which she assists aspiring authors in navigating selfpublishing.

Cabey serves as a member of the Speakers Bureau with RAINN (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network) and volunteers as a high school mentor for seniors preparing for college through her involvement with Sadie Nash.

Her vision is to continue inspiring individuals to surmount life's obstacles, expand her literary repertoire, and ultimately establish and manage her elementary school.
