History
of the Leadership Giving Program
The Leadership Giving Program has been a tradition at Claflin University since 1996. The program’s purpose is to thank those who have made cash gifts to the University at the leadership level of $1,000 and above and to encourage and motivate others to invest in Claflin’s mission and vision by also making leadership gifts to the institution. The name of the Leadership Giving Program itself speaks to the program’s significance and to the unique qualities of the donors who help make Claflin University stronger. These donors are keepers of the vision, who, by activating their belief in and their support of the Claflin mission with their generous gifts each year, help the University realize the dreams of promising men and women to graduate from college and become productive global citizens. The Leadership Giving Luncheon is the University’s way of saying “thank you” to those who have made a phenomenal impact on the lives of Claflin students. It also allows our donors to fellowship with others who share their enthusiasm and support for the institution’s ideals and principles. Note: The list of honorees for 2023 reflects contributions received from October 16, 2022, through October 15, 2023.
