Outstanding Leaders Under 40 Leslie Laurice Wright

Leslie Laurice Wright was born on October 30, 1983, in Kingstree, South Carolina, to Mr. and Mrs. Jerome Clemson Wright. She received her education in Kingstree, SC, and graduated from Kingstree Senior High School in 2002.

Wright continued her education at Claflin University, where she received a full scholarship and was a member of the Alice Carson Tisdale Honors College, attending on a full scholarship. While at Claflin University, she participated in several organizations, including Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Wright also dedicated significant time to the Gerontology department at Methodist Oaks Assisted Living Facility, where she worked.

Wright graduated with honors from Claflin University. She worked with victims of domestic assault and rape after Claflin. She gained invaluable experience working with the Department of Mental Health and the local Community Action Agency while pursuing a Family and Marriage Counseling degree at Walden University.

Ms. Wright continued her education at Grand Canyon University, graduating with honors and earning her MS in Professional Counseling.

Ms. Wright previously served as the Executive Director at Williamsburg County Behavioral Health, formerly known as Williamsburg County Alcohol and Drug Abuse. Today, she is the proprietor of Leslie Wright Counseling, LLC. In this capacity, she holds licenses as a Professional Counselor, Substance Abuse Professional, Alcohol and Drug Counselor, National Certified Counselor, and Certified Autism Spectrum Disorder Specialist. She is certified as a Prime for Life Instructor.
