Shadia M. Combs, Esq.
’14 Shadia M. Combs, Esq. is an associate attorney at the Law Offices of Jennifer J. Riley, where she practices Family Law. Combs has previously worked as an assistant city solicitor in the Tort Litigation Unit and for the non-profit Philadelphia Legal Assistance as a staff attorney. Combs served as a law clerk to the Honorable Cateria R. McCabe, Common Pleas Court of Philadelphia Family Division Dependency Branch, and the Honorable Sierra Thomas-Street in the Court of Common Pleas Criminal Division. While in law school, Combs was committed to public service and interned for Villanova University's Institute to Address Commercial Sexual Exploitation. She also worked for the Child Advocacy Unit at The Defender Association of Philadelphia. In both capacities, Combs helped advocate for those in vulnerable situations.
Combs proudly serves as the second vice president of the Quaker City Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and is a member of The Barristers' Association of Philadelphia. Combs graduated cum laude at Claflin University and earned a bachelor's degree in business administration in 2014. She earned her Juris Doctor in 2017 from the Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law. Combs is a member of the Bar of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania. One of her favorite quotes is from 2014 Nobel Peace Prize laureate Malala Yousafzai: "When the whole world is silent, even one voice becomes powerful."
