Trimease K. Carter
’07 In 2022, Trimease Carter became a program officer at Central Carolina Community Foundation, where she manages grantmaking for nonprofits. She has a grant portfolio of over $1M and has led multiple teams with diverse constituents, including donors, nonprofit representatives, community volunteers, staff, and board members. She is the chair of Together South Carolina’s Black Nonprofit Leaders Group, and this fall, she will be one of 32 leaders to join the Philanthropy Southeast 2023-2024 Hull Fellows Class. Before joining CCCF, Carter was the Youth Relations and Organizational Equity Manager at Wholespire for 10 years. She oversaw the
creation and implementation of the Healthy Young People Empowerment (HYPE) Project and led the organization’s Race Equity and Inclusion efforts. Carter has always wanted to help improve communities, and other past roles include Community Education Assistant at Sexual Trauma Services of the Midlands and Project Coordinator for the Building Dreams Mentoring Program. Carter is a licensed master social worker with a master’s degree in social work from the University of South Carolina and a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Claflin University. Carter enjoys reading in her free time.
