FIPRESCI (Fédération Internationale de la Presse Cinématographique) er betegnelsen på den internasjonale paraplyorganisasjonen av profesjonelle filmkritikere og -journalister, etablert i 1930. FIPRESCI består av nasjonale organisasjoner av filmkritikere, og har som formål å fremme filmkultur og beskytte profesjonelle interesser. FIPRESCI er best kjent for sitt engasjement i juryer på ulike filmfestivaler, og organisasjonen har i dag nærmere 40 juryer internasjonalt. FIPRESCI-juryen deler ut ”Den Internasjonale Kritikerprisen”, som i noen tilfeller blir vurdert som like viktig som de offisielle juryprisene i og med at det normalt bare tildeles én slik pris per festival. FIPRESCI-prisen tildeles ut fra et kriterium om ”å fremme filmkunsten og å oppmuntre den nye og unge filmen”.
Founded in 1930, FIPRESCI (Fédération Internationale de la Presse Cinématographique) is the name of the international umbrella organisation of professional film critics and film journalists. FIPRESCI consists of national organisations of film critics, and works to promote film culture and safeguard professional interests. FIPRESCI is mostly known through its involvement in juries at different film festivals. Presently there are FIPRESCI juries at almost 40 international film festivals. The FIPRESCIjury awards The International Critic’s Award, which, as it is normally only presented to one film per festival, is in some cases regarded as equally important as official jury prizes. The criteria for the FIPRESCI award is “to promote film art and to encourage new and young cinema”.

FIPRESCI og FICC JURY FICC (Fédération internationale des ciné-clubs) ble grunnlagt i 1947 under Filmfestivalen i Cannes, og er en paraplyorganisasjon for filmklubber og ikkekommersielle kinoer. Theo Angelopoulos har siden 1999 vært president i FICC. Et av FICCs mål er å øke publikums interesse for kvalitetsfilm. FICC-juryer deltar på utvalgte filmfestivaler, som Berlin (Forum), Cottbus, Karlovy Vary og Locarno, hvor de deler ut Don Quijote-prisen. FICCs pilotprosjekt ”Discoveries” er et distribusjonsnettverk som formidler smal film, spesielt Don Quijote-vinnere. Tromsø Internasjonale Filmfestival hadde æren av å stå som vertskap for en FICC-jury for første gang i år 2000, da Don Quijote-prisen gikk til den franske debutfilmen PEAU D’HOMME, COEUR DE BETE av Hélène Angel. I 2001 gikk den til EN TID FOR FULLE HESTER av Bahman Ghobadi. Tromsø er også den eneste norske festivalen som har en FICC-jury.
Founded in 1947 during the Cannes Film Festival, FICC/IFFS is an international umbrella organisation of film societies and non-profit cinemas. Theo Angelopoulos was elected as president of FICC/IFFS in 1999. One of the aims of FICC/IFFS is to promote outstanding film, and FICC/IFFS juries participate at selected film festivals, such as Berlin (Forum), Cottbus, Karlovy Vary and Locarno, where they award the Don Quijote prize. “Discoveries” is a pilot project initiated by FICC/IFFS to distribute Don Quijote prize winners and other outstanding films. Tromsø International Film Festival had the honour of hosting a FICC-jury for the first time in 2000, when the jury awarded Hélène Angel’s feature debut PEAU D’HOMME, COEUR DE BETE. In 2001 it was given to A TIME FOR DRUNKEN HORSES by Bahman Ghobadi. Tromsø is also the only Norwegian festival that hosts a FICC-jury.
