Parent Council N
ow in its thirteenth year, the Parent Council has again been successful in achieving each of its four objectives: consultative, educational, social and fundraising. The regular meetings of the Council provide the opportunity for open communication and consultation between parents and the College. This opportunity is widely appreciated by both the parents and the College. The Council invited Dr Peter Dingell to address parents of the College on the topic of “Happier, Healthier and Smarter Kids”. His entertaining presentation was well received and his helpful tips well regarded. The Council’s Annual “Sundowner” in February provided the opportunity for social interaction for members of the College community and a suitable welcome to the year for new parents. Year 8 parents were also welcomed by the Parent Council with a drink and a smile at their information night held in November. The Parent Ball was again a resounding success and is increasingly popular as a major community building event on the Trinity College social calendar.
which was aimed at providing some much needed shade and seating for the boys around the grounds of the College. It is appropriate to give a special thank you to Virginia Fairchild for managing this project in a very efficient and dedicated manner.

Canteen W
hat a wonderful year we have had. We have been pleased to welcome some “new faces” and it was wonderful to see some Mothers returning after a couple of years absence. We are very grateful for any help that we receive as it helps to keep Canteen prices to a minimum. We all love a good chat and new babies born throughout the families are all talked about, photos shown and toasts made. All the exciting events at the College contribute to my love of my job and the challenges that we face encourage us to find creative solutions; nothing is impossible. Having supportive and hard working staff contributes towards the smooth running of the Canteen. This year has been very busy as we have catered for the students and also for many staff events.
We are always happy to see new faces in the Canteen; you don’t need to be experienced and if you do not wish to serve at the counter there are plenty of other roles to be filled. Call in and see us at any time, we would be happy to have a chat. Carol Watson, Sue Calleja, Dawn Draper and Tommy Chew Canteen Manager & Staff
