Year 7
Mr Tony Maxfield
Year 7 Blue 34 is the population of 7 Blue – 2006, We’re a good looking bunch; we will probably attract the chicks. We’ve studied World Wars and Canberra, also our solar boats, But it’s the true friends in 7 Blue that have kept us all afloat.
Mr Yates was our relief and our teacher Mr Max, Term Three was so busy we had no time to relax! Our poetry was a big thing throughout the year, We have all had fun and that is quite clear.
We have a homework contract almost every week, If it wasn’t for school we would not be pushed to our peak. So that’s the story of 7 Blue and a very successful year. If I was old enough I would probably sit back.... .... and pop open a beer!
Matthew Hopkins
What a Year in 7 Blue
This wonderful year in 7 Blue, There was always something that you could do. Whether it was reading Parvana or constructing boats, Or picking up papers and writing essay notes! On our Confirmation retreat we had such a great time, White water rafting and the food sublime. The idea of the camp was to prepare for our Confirmation, And to focus our thoughts on that huge occasion.
In Term Three we started reading a book called Parvana, Under the Afghan Taliban who imprisoned her father. Life in Afghanistan certainly is tough, But Parvana, Hassan and Asif never give up.
The highlight of the year was the Canberra trip, From high up in the plane Perth is just a blip. Getting up in the morning was a bit of a climb, But it certainly was a trip of a lifetime.
At the start of Term Three we had a new boy arrive, His name was Sean and he is Thai. He’s fitted in well and made many friends, And he’ll be at Trinity, one of us until the end.
There’s so much to tell but I’ll explain it all later, Because it’s impossible to fit it all on this paper.
Thinking back it all seems pretend, But sadly we have nearly reached the end.
There have been some tough times, sometimes in strife, But my journey through Junior School has been the time of my life!

A snapshot of the year:
7 Green Confirmation Retreat
In Term Two, 7 Green went on our Confirmation Retreat to Camp Kelly in Dwellingup. When we had settled into Mr Gavin Bell Year 7 Green our dormitories we went rafting and played a trust game. When it started to get dark, we had mass with Father Mac and watched a movie called “Remember the Titans”.
William O’Hara & Martin Hoang
Small Group
Since the majority of Year 7s went to Canberra, only eight people remained behind. We went on a walking tour of Perth, which was enjoyable and we made Chicken Teriyaki, which tasted great! We also went on a Captain Cook Cruise which was a great experience.
John Samineeni & Thomas Hussey
7 Green Masses
The first Mass we celebrated was all about the goodness in our world – it was called ‘Love and Justice’. Our second Mass was celebrating the Feast of Mary’s Birth.
Jacob Boehm & Nathan Lyons
Confirmation Assembly Item
This year we received the Sacrament of Confirmation – where we took another step into becoming better Christians. During the weeks leading to Confirmation we went to other students’ houses to prepare for the event. On the night of our Confirmation we were lucky to have Fr Mac as our celebrant. Our families and sponsors came along to enjoy the special occasion with us.
Thinh Dong & Anthony Biundo Canberra Tour
We arrived in Sydney and went to the SCG to watch the Dockers vs the Swans. The next day we went to church and looked around Sydney. Then we went to Canberra and visited the AIS, Questacon, a Dinosaur Museum, Parliament House and Perisher Blue. Everything was great fun!!
Michael Hay & Harry Higham
For our assembly item, we rewrote the words to Ben Lee’s song called ‘Catch My Disease’. To the song we played the marimba and the glockenspiel. Ms Bott helped us a lot and she included Mark on guitar and Cody on drums.
