Year 4 Year 4 Blue

Year 4 Green

Year 4 students had a great start to life at Trinity College. Lent started the second week of Term 1 and we celebrated Shrove Tuesday by making pancakes. Quite a few Mums came to help us make the pancakes. The boys enjoyed making and more so eating them. Many thanks to all the mums for bringing in the ingredients and utensils and also for cleaning the mess. In week 7 of Term 1 we had our first class Mass. Much preparation went into the Mass. Each boy had a special role to play. Many thanks to Ms Bott who taught the boys a liturgical dance to help make our Mass extra special. We also started our peer support programme which was a great success. Boys in Year 4 looked forward to meeting their peers in Year 7 each week. Mr Maxfield and Mr Chitty did a great job organising the activities.

Term 1

When I went to my new school, Trinity College, I felt very nervous. I went into Four Green and met the teacher Miss Freedman. After a while of being at Trinity I settled in very well. A week later we started swimming lessons preparing for the swimming carnival. The day of the swimming carnival, Chanel won – that’s my house! Our theme this term was “Splash” and we started learning about explorers like Captain Cook, Marco Polo, Christopher Columbus and others. A couple of weeks after the swimming carnival we had our basketball carnival against Aquinas College. It was very hot on the day. It was held on the three outdoor basketball courts and the gym. Two weeks later we had our cricket carnival. It was held at Waterford Playing Fields against Guilford Grammar. Louie Butler Term 2

In Term Two we also did lots of exciting things. Our theme was “Big and Beastie”. We read lots of books such as the “Hobbit”. There was also a special mass for our school’s founder, Edmund Rice, which was at the Entertainment Centre. During Term Two we went to the Zoo with Four Blue and lots of parent helpers. We started a project on our favourite animal from the zoo. I did a wolf for my project. My mark was eight and a half out of ten which was pretty good for me.

From the mouths of the boys

My first year at Trinity College has been great and I have made some very good friends. I am so lucky that my parents sent me to Trinity College and I am sure that my future years here will be just as good as the first. Alex D’Angelo

I enjoyed the Bicentennial Mass at the Entertainment Centre. The year four boys dressed as Irish street urchins and Mr Hackett dressed up like Edmund Rice. It was a lot of fun.

James Ballard Term 3

Jesse Moutia

Term 3 was twice as big as terms 1 and 2 ! Our theme was “Countries & Cultures”. We had to do a project on any country we liked, I did West Germany. Our interschool sports carnivals this term were soccer against Wesley and footy against Aquinas. We then made our First Holy Communion in Week 5. It was a very special and great day! After the Mass, we went up to Gibney Hall for afternoon tea. Our class organised a Mass based on the theme of Aboriginal Reconciliation. Four Green then had an assembly which Miss Bott helped us with. In the second last week of term three Trinity hosted the Interschool Athletics Carnival. It was a hard day! I thought Trinity did well in the carnival. The term finished off with a big walk to Burswood Park.

I loved all the carnivals we had this year. I enjoyed participating in the Swimming and Athletics Carnivals and the Cross Country. My Mum and Dad were very proud of my efforts. Tom Metcalf

All through the year I had fun winning races and losing. I still had a lot of fun and I reckon everyone else did too. James Cumming

It was hard going to a new school by myself. There were fewer grades, bigger play areas, a better library, lots more computers and I was in a lot more athletics teams. Matt Bartlett

Gerard Colreavy

August 23rd was one of the most important days in my life, as I received the Body of Christ. All the special people in my life were there to witness this happy occasion.

Term 4

Term 4 was great. Our theme was Inventions & Space. We all got to pick our sports options. I chose Ten Pin Bowling & Rollerblading. The Year Sevens have been creating fun fund raising things for us to do. The money then goes to the Missions. They did the handball competition and I got into the grand final, but I lost to Tom Metcalf. They also did a chocolate raffle. I bought 11 tickets and I might buy some more! My first year at Trinity was the best school year I have had in my life. I am looking forward to my next year with either Mrs Kelly or Mrs Coleman.
