Year 7

Year 7 Blue

2002, boy last year just flew, Back to Year 7, for me must be year number 11. Afresh new class, waiting at the door, Eager to get started, hopeful it’s not a bore. Diary, text books, and W.A. Maths, Let’s get started guys; Term 1 will be over like a flash.

Mr.Maxfield

Now the first one’s over, we have the second term, Along with learning “interesting” things, we’re going to be Confirmed. But to top it all off, the term will be sweet. Cos’ we’re going to Dwellingup for a Confirmation Retreat.

Liam Blackford

We learnt a lot about flight, and different types of planes, And some fascinating facts that we’re sure wasn’t lame. Nothing was a bore, in 7 Blue this year, Getting closer and closer to all of our careers.

Matt Beor and Ben Coakley

Mr. Maxfield was a great mentor and friend, But his class’ antics drove him round the bend. He taught us about battleships and WWII, To his lovely class 7 Blue.

Taylor Matthews and Liam Blackford

At the end of the year, Christmas time has come. We can spend time with our Dad and our Mum. Santa gives us our presents at midnight. While we’re lying asleep in bed, tucked in tight. The year was fun, but now it’s finished But our hopes and strengths have not diminished. Jesus is watching over us still. And the fires in our hearts are never going to chill.

Liam Blackford Year 7 Green

My nerves were pretty extreme when I entered the class room of 7 Green on the first day of term 1. I didn’t know what to think and wondered what our old sport teacher, Mr Chitty, would be like as a normal classroom teacher. My question was answered straight away, when we dug into some language work. Our theme for language that term was Ancient Egypt. Some of the activities we participated included, reading a book about a girl in Egypt and completing worksheets about it, writing palaeontologist/archaeologist poems and writing a story that was set in the Ancient Egyptian period.

The other exciting activity we experienced was the peer mentor programme. It felt really good to have a little year four buddy who could look up to you and know you for the whole time they were at Trinity College. I felt really proud being a leader and so did all the other year seven boys. Term 1 ended up being a very interesting, fun and exciting term. I couldn’t wait for the next one!

Nic Barbas

Towards the beginning of term two we had the Confirmation home and school programme, as well as doing a project on our saint names. Then we went on the Confirmation Retreat at Camp Kelly which was great fun. Getting Confirmed was a major event for the year sevens and now leaving the Junior School filled with the Holy Spirit.

Mr Chitty got us to do a class enlargement of a Holden Monaro for a combined Maths and Art activity. It’s now on the wall along with the other Holden posters and looks pretty good.

Finally we did some presentations in the form of an advertising campaign for an ‘Australian made product’.

Dylan Misso

The year started real smooth. Term by term passed then came term 3. This would have to be our most favourite term throughout the whole year.

During term 3 we had our class assembly item. The term’s theme was based on the Commonwealth Games and sport. Our assembly item had a range of sports (Football, Soccer, Hockey & Rugby), umpires and referees all choreographed to Fat Boy Slim’s Song “Weapon of Choice”. We referred to it as 7 Green versus Fat Boy Slim, “Sports Motion of Choice”.

Later on during the term, we paired up and researched a Commonwealth Country. Once we found our information we made a Powerpoint presentation out of it.

This next subject would have had to have been the best subject. We made a youth talent scout programme. This was really fun, because you would choose people to test out their skills in that particular sport.

This was one of the best terms in the whole year.
