Year 5 Camp – Forest Edge, Waroona
O
for breakfast, and then went abseiling. I was a bit scared and excited at first as it was my first time ever. It was FUN!! Sam Harris was very quick going down the abseiling wall. We went to wall climbing and I got up both the purple and orange and a small way up the overhang. Frank got 1/4 of the way on the complete upside down of the overhang, and fell! After that, we went to the Incentive Course. We found out that Sam Harris had a leach on him. It was about 4cm long. After dinner we watched a video called “Angels In The Outfield”. Halfway through the video we stopped it and had some supper of cake and milo, mmm! Day three, I got up and dressed as soon as possible. We had boomerang making and clean-up, followed by boomerang throwing. We had a barbecue lunch and then went home. At the boomerang making, I spent most of my time filing it into shape. After that, I painted it with red, blue, yellow and black. Then we went to clean up the camp area. When we went boomerang throwing, I almost took Mr Hamer’s head off! Then it was time to go. We all had a good time. I would like to go there again sometime. IT WAS FUN!!!
n Wednesday, the 15th of March 2002, 65 Year 5 students, 13 dads, and 5 teachers from Trinity College Junior School went to Waroona to camp. This camp is approximately one and a half hours south of Trinity driving by bus. On Wednesday, we got to camp. I thought it was going to be a short ride, but it turned out to be longer than anticipated but I can cope with that. When we got to camp we sat down in our groups and had the hat presentations and doughnuts. After that, we went canoeing and raft-building. Yes! I went the full way up the stream with Mr Rees and we saw musk ducks, shags and more ducks. It was like the Knysa Lagoon, but not as many birds. On the raft building, everyone was paying attention to what was going on except one person. Everyone tied the ropes up tightly. The raft was going well and everything until one of the knots came undone. The raft sank and we were shipwrecked. One of the fathers fell into the water. It was very funny. After that we went back to camp and we had dinner. After dinner we played “Red Faces” which was very funny, and then we had a Quiz Night. Day two began in a very noisy way. I got dressed and went down the steps to brush my teeth. I ate three pancakes
