Workshop aims to bring peace for its participants Locals had the chance to attend a Building Peace & Resilience workshop in Cobar on Monday at the Cobar Bowling & Golf Club. The workshop offered practical nonconfronting help for people living in challenging circumstances and was facilitated by the Quest for Life Foundation. Quest for Life partnered with community organisations to deliver a series of free workshops for 12 regional and rural communities in western NSW, one of which was Cobar. Workshop facilitator Margie Braunstein said their one day workshops were a compressed version of their five day residential program. “Not everyone can get to those, especially if they live out west, so we came out here to bring what we do on a residential in a short form, in a compressed format,” Margie said. The workshops provided participants with life-enhancing skills, tools and strategies for living well in challenging circumstances. “We don’t open things up for people, we talk about feelings but we don’t ask people to share their own,” Margie said. “It’s all very safe, very non-confronting. “It’s a really lovely educational day about how to manage reactions and feelings and all the challenges that we have in our life no matter where we live, actually. “We all have challenges don’t we?
