The Role
We now have an opportunity available for Electricians to join our Operations & Maintenance team in Cobar, NSW on a full time permanent basis. Reporting to the Regional Manager, you will play a key role in providing the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of high-pressure transmission pipeline system.
Key Responsibilities
• Implement routine and unscheduled maintenance on pipeline system, Compressor Stations and Meter Pressure Reduction facilities, scraper stations and laterals and associated plant
• Undertake technical analysis and evaluations on plant performance diagnosing solutions to reoccurring problems, recommending modifications and improvements on plant performance
• Undertake routine testing of cathodic protection levels on transmission pipelines in accordance with requirements
• Provide reliable data, plant histories and reports for analysis and review providing effective documentation for APA's programmed and corrective maintenance programs
• Develop and maintain effective, supportive and reliable communication, professional working relationships with field and office based colleagues
• Manage the onsite Permit to Work System in accordance with APA procedures
About You
• Work experience in heavy industry desirable
• Electrical trade qualification with experience in transmission gas pipelines is preferred
• A high degree of self motivation
• Ability to work unsupervised
• Good computer literacy skills

Extra qualities we seek
• Knowledge of Gas Transmission /Distribution Systems advantageous
• Understanding of pressures, flows and distribution cause and effect and basic instrumentation an advantage
