Red carpet rolled out for art exhibition

The red carpet was rolled out at the Cobar Railway Station on Friday night for the official opening of the Cobar Arts Council’s Art, Craft and Photography competition and the announcement of this year’s Western Landcare NSW Life and Light Photography Competition winners. There was a big crowd in attendance. Pictured above are some of the first place prize winners of the Art, Craft and Photography competition with Arts Council president Lillian Simpson and Peak Gold Mines general manager Angus Wyllie representing the competition’s sponsor Aurelia Metals. Pictured above right is Angus and Cobar Arts Council secretary Susan Singleton presenting Jan Johnson with the Joan Singleton Perpetual Award for Overall Pointscore; and below right is Lillian and Angus along with Thellie Wade, presenting Michel Chillingsworth with the Thellie Wade Perpetual Award for Best Painting.
