Tech Ad reaps awards in 10th U-Wide Press Congress byAngelica Maries Maderazo

Technology Advocate writers and artists once again proved that they could bring home the honor as they bagged 16 awards from the 10th University Wide Press Congress with the theme, “LSPU Student Publications: Always moving in unison for inclusivity for One University,” last November 24-26 at Laguna State Polytechnic UniversitySiniloan Campus. Baybay Granary led the annual intercampus event of the four-campus publication of Laguna State Polytechnic University: Technology Advocate (San Pablo City Campus), The Gears (Sta. Cruz Campus), Bay Breeze Group of Publications (Los Baños Campus) and the host, Baybay Granary (Siniloan Campus). UNIVERSITY AMPHITHEATER—Christian Angelo P. Castillo and Regina Ella S. Carandang were named as Mr. and Ms. Physical Education, Dec. 13.

Aside from holding the said title, Carandang hauled special awards including Ms. Photogenic, Best in Production Number, Best in Uniform, and Popularity Award. In Question and Answer portion, Castillo was asked to interpret the photo flashed on screen and his answer as quoted: “Ang litrato po ay nagpapakita ng pagkakaisa despite po ng pagkakaiba-iba ng bawat tao sa buong mundo. Ito po ay marapat lamang na pairalin po hindi lamang po sa Pilipinas kung hindi sa buong mundo dahil sa pamamagitan po ng pagkakaisa o unity ay sama-sama po tayong uunlad hindi lamang sa buong Pilipinas pati ang buong mundo ay magkakaroon

ng peace, love, at kaunlaran.” (The picture shows unity despite diversity of nations in the world. This must prevail not only in the Philippines but in the whole world because by unity we grow and attain peace, love, and progress.) On her turn, Carandang answered in response to the photo of stressed man: “May iba’t iba tayong klase ng stress na nararanasan. Nai-stress tayo sa ating pamilya, sa ating mga kamag-aral, sa ating mga kaibigan, sa love life, at sa pag-aaral. May tatlo akong paraan upang maiwasan ko o ma-overcome ko ang stress na aking nararanasan. Una ay nagtitiwala ako sa Diyos. Nagdadasal ako. Ipinagdadasal ko sa Diyos kung ano ang problema ko.
