To promote responsible student leadership at Laguna State Polytechnic University (LSPU), the Office of Student Affairs and Services (OSAS) conducted a twoday student leadership training with the theme “Capability Building and Turn-Over Ceremonies: Strengthening Student Leadership for University Development” at Amazing View Resort, Sept.6-7. The Alumni Affairs and Placement Services (AAPS) of Laguna State Polytechnic University – San Pablo City Campus (LSPU-SPCC) together with Philippine Red Cross – San Pablo City chapter recently conducted a blood donation activity with the theme, “Dugo Ko, Handog ko Ngayong Pasko” at LSPU-AVEC, November 26. Honored to perform before the university students, the said group broke the gymnasium with their straight formations, alternate and synchronized steps, and doubtless flexibility that stood them out and reaped consequent victory. 1B Social Studies were declared as second best while 12 NEWS DIGNIFIED. Student leaders seek knowledge-based effective skills. Rodolfo B. Valdenarro, OSAS Director together with the OSAS chairpersons from different campuses – Celeste C. Marquez from Sta. Cruz Campus, Alberto C. Castillo of San Pablo Campus and Noemi B. Nunes of Los Banos Campus spearheaded the said activity. Matters such as lowering the maintaining grades for board and non-board programs, efficiency and effectivity of student-leader functions and faculty evaluation were discussed and given attention during the said leadership training. Proposals and other agenda which were discussed during the leadership training will be presented to the academic committee for approval. **** The said activity was open to all registered participants but examined first if their current health condition would allow them to be possible blood donors. A total of 28 bags were collected out of 100 registered participants which will be added to the blood bank of Philippine Red Cross. Rose R. Andrade, Internal President of the Alumni Association delivered the closing remarks while Vladimer Rexcy S. Buna served as the Master of Ceremony. **** 1A Mathematics in their jungle-themed choreography as the third. Champions received medal and certificate and to compete in the Battle of Champions the following day. Juzpher John Bituin, Danielle L. Fajot, and Dianne Viesca sat the board of jury. ***
