Like a machine, nothing functions better when only some parts are working. Cavite State University (CvSU) shows the true essence of being a good citizenasapartofCavite,Indang, andthecountry, byfollowing the provincial ordinance of plastic banning and municipal ordinance of solid waste management, together with Republic Act No. 9003 or "Ecological Solid Waste ManagementActof2000".
CvSU molded its people to have discipline by implementingproperwastemanagement,whichbeganin2017 when the school passed an environmental assessment report to the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) CALABARZON, which then granted them the environmental compliance certificate. From then on, the committee on waste management, which is now headed byMr. Junser Magpantaywas strengthened, leading each of the college departments and offices to havepollutioncontrolcoordinators.
In line with this, as the CvSU hosted the Southern Tagalog Regional Association of State Colleges and Universities (STRASUC) Olympics 2022, the committee discusses its policywhich caughttheinterestof manydelegates from otheruniversities, "Maayos po 'yung waste management ng CvSU compared sa ibang campuses na napuntahan namin, as in discipline po talaga regarding waste management," saidMarkHensonM.Ticzon, student from Laguna State Polytechnic University – San Pablo CityCampus.

event was participated by 12 state universities and colleges (SUCs) from the southern Tagalog region with 16 sports competitions to hustle in. Butaside from the games, reports of misconduct from some of the players during the eventalsocaughttheattention of the people; most of which are coming from the Laguna State Polytechnic University (LSPU’s) delegates.
This may be a trivial issuetobepointedoutconsidering that tertiary education gives much more attention to learning and student achievement than student conduct. But that’s the point: basic etiquette and manners are already beingneglected.Thisleaves out a big canvas to the image of the school to be painted as ill-mannered by otherschools.
about the incident, some of the delegates – accordingly – responded unpleasantly.
“Para bang tropa lang yung way of answering inunawa nalangnamin,” a CVSU official said in an interview. This is to consider that some rooms are not fit for use since several areas are still under construction making the vicinity a hazard prone area. Also, there are rooms used as quarantine rooms which makes some areas a health hazard for regular use. Thus, the lack of available rooms is not sufficient enough for some delegates to break andenterlockedareas.
But most importantly, CVSUisknownforhavinga renowned environmental compliance program. Nowhere in the campus will you see any unreasonable trash. With their comprehensivewastemanagement
