Baybay Granary led the annual intercampus event of the four-campus publication of Laguna State Polytechnic University: Technology Advocate (San Pablo City Campus), The Gears (Sta. Cruz Campus), Bay Breeze Group of Publications (Los Baños Campus) and the host, Baybay Granary (Siniloan Campus). LSPU-SPCC holds Moral and Spiritual Values Enrichment Seminar by:Kim Arnie Gesmundo, Lhorengel Jestre, Jennis Maghirang “This activity aims to tell the image of public and private servants and teach them to be Maka-Diyos, Makatao, Maka-kalikasan at Makabansa,” Executive Councilor of Values Formation and Spiritual Transformation Council Philippine International Inc., Leonilo F. Fosana, stated during the Moral and Spiritual Values Enrichment Seminar and Lectures at Laguna State Polytechnic University, San Pablo City Campus (LSPU-SPCC), October 16. College of Business Management and Accountancy (CBMA), College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), College of Computer Studies (CCS), and College of Criminal Justice Education (CCJE) attended the morning session while the College of Teacher Education (CTE), College of Hospitality Management and Tourism (CHMT), College of Engineering (COE), and College of Industrial Technology (CIT) attended in afternoon. Campus Director, Dr. Daniel Bunal gave an opening remarks about the moral integration of the LSPU-SPCC students. TPCI Inc. member, Patrick Von Fallaria emphasized the goal of Moral Recovery Programs to transform the image of every Filipino regarding their moral values as Fosana conducted an activity that focuses on loving God and the family. Office of Student Affairs and Services (OSAS), head, Prof. Albert Castillo awarded the certificate of appreciation to the guest speakers. Jarrix Delica Bunyi served as the master of the ceremony.***

Carandang were named as Mr. and Ms. Physical Education, Dec. 13. Aside from holding the said title, Carandang hauled special awards including Ms. Photogenic, Best in Production Number, Best in Uniform, and Popularity Award. In Question and Answer portion, Castillo was asked to interpret the photo flashed on screen and his answer as quoted: “Ang litrato po ay nagpapakita ng pagkakaisa despite po ng pagkakaiba-iba ng bawat tao sa buong mundo. AUDIO-VISUAL EDUCATIONAL CENTER (AVEC)—Thirteen AACCUP accreditors chaired the evaluation of documents of college courses, 10:15 a.m. of October 22. As to Dr. De Vera, the training design must show sustainability and the progress of the said program must be included in the monitoring and evaluation report. For Doctor of Education— Major in Educational Management, Dr. Agripina F. Banayo headed the extension services unit where projects include the Sagip-E conducted in Brgy. Bagong Bayan and the Gawaing Pangkabuhayan. Upon evaluation, it was emphasized that before the creation and implementation of such services, there should be strategic planning like the meeting of stakeholders, writing of letters (e.g. invitation and acceptance), and program management. Evaluation for the BS Electrical Engineering (BSEE) began by probing the faculty profile which includes its members, the subjects taken by the students, and the learning facilities.****

Accreditors summarized the 3-day State-U evaluation. 14 NEWS The Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP) accreditors continued the evaluation of documents for each area and program followed by conducting ocular visits around the university on Day 2, Oct. 23. Prof. Genevive Garcia led the ocular visit where the accreditors assessed the Computer Laboratory in College of Computer Studies (CCS), Biology Lab in General Education Building (GEB) and College of Business Management and Accountancy (CBMA) Room 201 where she stressed that CBMA should have a concrete laboratory. Also, she focused on observing the number of computers, ventilation and arrangement of the university’s laboratories. Prof. Franklin A. Samonte, accreditor for Area 5 was assisted by Dr. Delon R. Ching and Mr. Allen Pasia on the ocular visit to the laboratories and research facilities of the campus where they visited the Ideation Design and Development (IDD) Laboratory and the Research and Development Office. Dr. Trinidad D. Macasil, the accreditor assigned for Area 4 interviewed Mr. Gara Mae Mandribe from College of Engineering (COE), Ms. January Jalbuena from CBMA, Ms. Jennifer Refugia from College of Criminal Justice Education (CCJE) and Mrs. Julie Fe Panoy from (CTE) and focused on the evaluation of the overall reports of each college wherein the accreditor complimented them for their work. Area 2 which focuses on faculty was evaluated by Dr. Annabelle B. De Vera where she emphasized the future capabilities of new applicants by teaching weekend classes for one year before giving them full time classes and to determine proper distribution of teaching hours while Prof. Trinidad G. Pasiong examined teachers’ strategies by asking students’ opinion about their teachers’ teaching style and further suggested different strategies that focuses on records and documentations. For Area 10, Dr. Estela Mario R. Porcincula during the Exit Cum Conference of the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP) at the AVEC Hall, October 24. LSPU chorale started the program with an invocation followed by the singing of the National Anthem and LSPU hymn. Dr. Zenaida Betaza, in behalf of the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Eden C. Callo, emphasized during her opening remarks that “it is our goal to become one of the best university in the region or so the country”. Dr. Trinidad D. Macasil, one of the lead accreditors highlighted the university’s achievement as one of its students topped the Registered Master Electrician Exam while one of the Team Leaders, Dr. Gina Lacabel recognized the College of Criminal Justice Education (CCJE) for being the top six performing criminology school nationwide. All accreditors shared several recommendations such as: observation of proper attire of canteen staffs, strengthen the internet connection in the library, consider keeping a logbook in CCJE laboratory for borrowed supplies, purchasing modules for major subjects, consider researches as basis to improve teaching techniques, encouraging faculty members to conduct collaborative researches, hiring of additional permanent nurses to cater the needs of the students, hire additional Guidance Counsellor for BSOA,BSEE,BSBM, have separate extension activities for BSBA and BSOA and remodelling of the CCJE laboratory. University President, Dr. Mario R. Briones, together with Dr. Daniel D. Bunal, led the statement of commitment, as he also awarded the Certificate of Commendation to the accreditors after which Ms. Lorena H. Garcia, Curriculum Instruction Development and Quality Assurance (CIDQA), chairperson closed the conference with words of thanks and a challenge, “ ‘Di tayo natatapos sa Level 2.” Ms. Imelda G.
