Repair instructions
Crankshaft, locking Starter motor removed Special tools: 9997005 1.
Unscrew the plug in the engine block and install locking pin 9997005 to lock the crankshaft. Make sure that the pin bottoms against the block. IMPORTANT! The crankshaft can be locked in two positions, only one of which is the correct position for installing the cylinder head and toothed belt pulley.

Crank the engine clockwise until the crankshaft locks. Be careful to ensure that it is locked in the correct position. The illustration shows the correct position for locking. No. 1 piston (1) should now be about 2 mm away from Top Dead Center. IMPORTANT! Also check that the marking (2) on the crankshaft toothed belt pulley coincides with the marking (3) on the oil pump.
