CHAPTER 5 CONTROLS & SA FETY EQUI PMENT
A WARNING Become familiar with and know how to use ALL of the Safety Devices and Controls on this Baler BEFORE attempting to operate It. Know how to STOP Baler operation BEFORE starting It! Also, read and understand ALL Safety Decals on the Baler, BEFORE operat Ing It. Do NOT attempt to operate this equip ment unless ALL factory Installed, Guards, Shields and Covers are properly secured In place.
GUARDS & SHIELDS Whenever and wherever possible and without affecting machine operation, Guards, Shields and hinged Covers
have been used on this equipment to protect potentially hazardous areas. In many places , Decals are also provided to warn of potential dangers as well as to display special operating procedures.
Twine Tie Guard (Fig. 5-1) This bolt-on Guard is provided to cover and protect the Twine Tie mechanism. A hole with a Bushing is provided on the right side of the Guard for feeding twine to the mechanism. Therefore, this guard MUST be secured in place for proper operation of the Baler.
Implement Drive Line Shields (Fig. 5-1) The Telescoping PTO Drive, between the Baler Gear box and the tractor PTO shaft, is equipped with Rotat ing Shields. The Shields MUST be free to rotate at all times.
