Transport / Storage
Long-time storage (> 6 months) When DCC is stored for long periods of time, the ambient temperature should be below 40°C (preferably below 25 °C). A general inspection of the DCC must be carried-out after it has been stored for a long time (corrosion, rust, dust, cobwebs etc.) If required: •
Clean the DCC
•
Carry-out an insulation test
•
Visual check for water hose – damages if any
•
Check the fan bearings in the DCC
•
Check the fan bearings in the SIBAS rack (refer to SIBAS documentation)
•
Test the SIBAS battery (refer to the SIBAS documentation)
•
Check the capacitors (electrolytic capacitors) in the SIBAS (refer to the SIBAS documentation)
•
Check the electrolytic capacitors in the IGBT Driver power supply.
•
Check the tantalum electrolytic capacitors in the IGBT Driver cards.
•
Check the electrolytic capacitors in the SIBAS filter:
The electrolytic capacitors must be re-formed (i.e. the electrolyte must be regenerated) if the DCC was stored for more than 2 years. Procedure when forming capacitors: • Observe the filter polarity • Use a 100 Ohm series resistor • Connect a voltage of 120 V DC across the series resistor at connections from Channel 2 • (Duration: 1 hour). • After 1 hour: Disconnect the voltage, discharge the capacitor in the filter • Store the filter for 48 hours • The capacitors in the filter are now formed
