OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS 6030, 6030FS Inspection and servicing COOLING SYSTEM Read and observe: "Inspection and servicing - Safety instructions".
Radiators The radiators are located on the superstructure in the counterweight module. Weekly checks:
Secure the machine as described in the "Securing the machine" section.
Check radiator fins for dirt and clean, if required.
Shut off the engines and allow to cool down.
Cooling-liquid level
Risk of scalding from hot cooling liquid.
An insufficient cooling-liquid level is displayed on the BCS screen (Fig. 3-28:).
Collect escaping cooling liquid and discard without polluting the environment.
Risk of scalding from hot cooling liquid. Open radiator cap cautiously.
Protect the skin from contact with cooling liquid. Skin contact with cooling liquid is a potential health hazard. Wear protective gloves and firm working clothing.
The radiator caps (1, Fig. 3-29:) are accessible from above.
Temperature
Turn radiator cap (1) back to the first notch.
The cooling liquid circuit is controlled by a thermostat. The max. admissible temperature is ca. 100° C (212°F). In case of higher temperatures, the BCS displays a warning on the screen (Fig. 3-28:).
When the pressure has been released turn cap into the "open" position and remove. The level indicator (4, Fig. 3-29:) shows the liquid level. The cooling-liquid must be between the “FULL” and “LOW” mark. Top up with cooling liquid, if required.
