Parking Brake (845B and 865B models with ZF Transmission) Stopping and parking A machine equipped with a torque converter has no rigid coupling between the engine and the wheels. To stop a machine on a ramp, make sure the parking brake is applied and install wheel blocks, specially, if operator pretends to leave the machine unattended.

Parking brake switch

The parking brake is a spring applied and hydraulically released device, mounted on the output shaft of the transmission. Designed to maintain the machine motionless, when correctly used. Push downwards the lower part of the parking brake switch, located on the side panel of the machine, to apply the parking brake. The parking brake will also be applied whenever the ignition switch is turned to OFF position. NOTE: To move the machine, the service brake should be in operation pressure before the parking brake is released. The brake pressure indicator light should not glow when the parking brake is released. CAUTION: To attempt moving the machine before the service brake pressure is at operational range, might result in parking brake caliper pads overheating and premature wear.
