San Francisco State University Student Housing is an upcoming 230,000 square foot mixed-use student housing facility. The development will have 171 residential units along with retail space, study lounges, parking and student amenities. The new building is part of SFSU's effort to create a university that has a real sense of community. The project will give students more affordable housing in the second most expensive city in the United States.
San Francisco State University Student Housing is the 4th project that Helix has worked on with American Campus Communities within the past 5 years. Helix's work for the project includes power, lighting, lighting controls, FA, security, A/V, ERRCS and LV data/Wifi. As an SFSU alumni, Superintendent Dan Smyth has a personal connection project. Smyth stated, "It is unique to build student housing for the same college at which I received my degree." PowerLine | Page 15
