The Loma Linda University Medical Center (LLUMC) is a nearly 900,000 square foot adult and children's hospital. With 16 floors and 2 patient towers, the expansion project will provide 693 patient beds and a wide range of medical services. The new building will also serve as an educational and research hub. Due to the hospital’s proximity to major earthquake faults, engineers designed the new structures on a vertical earthquake isolation system. Story continued on page 5.
