But, just like everything else, careful consideration must be made as to which products would best promote the message a company is trying to send. For instance, Alcoholics Anonymous would probably not want to distribute branded bottles of wine, and a company would probably not impress a group of Dallas Cowboys fans by providing them with burgundy t-shirts as promotional gifts (that’s their arch rivals, obviously). Team America

Team America is a non-profit organization championed by Pro Football Hall of Famer LaDainian Tomlinson with a mission centered around inclusiveness and opportunity for all. A true team-first player throughout his life and his amazing football career, LaDainian cherishes the values and principles manifested within the team environment. Thus, Team America focuses on prosperity through team rather than accomplishment through individualism, for it is through team where individuals are forced to come together for the collective well-being and where the unified human spirit of many can awaken a force exponentially more powerful than that of any one man, ultimately causing meaningful, transformational accomplishment.

Team America focuses on four core issue areas: (1) Character & Leadership, (2) Service & Engagement, (3) Spiritual & Community Uplift, and (4) Economic Empowerment. It is through programs within these four initiatives that Team America believes its positive, constructive vision of unity is perfectly situated to help our nation begin to reconcile its differences and become a country where we no longer impede on the opportunities of our fellow man, but instead, as LaDainian said during his historic Hall of Fame speech, we stand together to determine the best way forward.

The Remedy began working with LaDainian as he was preparing for his Hall of Fame induction. When he presented what was unanimously lauded as one of the most impactful speeches ever delivered from the Hall of Fame podium, it was abundantly clear that there was more to this than just a speech. The Remedy presented to him the opportunity to develop an entire movement and organization around the themes that flowed from his heartfelt address. Thus, Team America was born.

In addition to coming up with the visual identity for Team America, The Remedy developed an entire positioning for the new brand. From the vision and mission to the core initiative areas to the entire brand profile, The Remedy took a measured and methodical approach in building the Team America brand. This included layering in his other companies, ventures, and initiatives into one aligned organization within a single brand, while also allowing those entities to continue to operate and conduct business as standalone properties.

Fan Plan

Fan Plan

Fan Plan represented a rebrand opportunity for The Remedy. After originally creating the predecessor brand and successfully launching that product as a start-up company, The Remedy assisted the company through an acquisition process. As part of the new acquisition, The Remedy was charged with rebranding the company with a new look and feel more similar to a modern technology company. As such, The Remedy conducted market research into brands within similar industries -- online event ticketing, insurance, gaming, and sports media -- and developed a concept for the brand.

The brand was given a much more consumer-friendly name -- Fan Plan. That catchy name would also be the actual name of the products that the company sold, making for a very simple marketing strategy. The Remedy then developed a sleek new modern logo, one that could be used in many different applications. The Remedy also developed a new, dynamic color palette that would help further brand Fan Plan.

In the previous incarnation as TickAssure!, the entire brand was at times confusing to the consumer. The product was totally unique with nothing similar in the market, so there was a meaningul learning curve around it. The brand also had a similarly confusing name, as it led consumers to make assumptions about the product that were not entirely true. With the new streamlined Fan Plan brand, the name and product are much more simple and concise. The new brand also was positioned in a way that it could easily become a partner brand, and that came to fruition nearly from the start when the Fan Plan brand began discussions with the College Football Playoff and the NCAA about partnerships to further their respective consumer engagement strategies.

FreeForAll Concert Series

FreeForAll Concert Series

The Remedy was approached with a unique concept in the world of entertainment. The idea was simple: a concert series featuring well-known acts at venues people want to attend where all of the tickets for the event are absolutely free. Our mission was to develop a brand that told the story and positioned it with legitimacy, excitement, and intrigue.

With the concept in hand, The Remedy went to work. We knew the brand needed a catchy name, one that would get people’s attention and also relay to the public the concert series’ most unique aspect – that all of the tickets were free. After going round and round with dozens of potential names and ideas, The Remedy finally settled on one that we believed was a home run – FreeForAll.

From there the FreeForAll Concert Series was born. The Remedy developed primary and secondary marks for the brand, along with a fun, exciting color palette and typeset that matched the character and personality of the new brand. The Remedy also oversaw all of the advertising, marketing, and media relations efforts of the brand as it rolled out its first show which featured Grammy-winning band Blues Traveler and Rock and Roll Hall of Famers The Family Stone, among other acts.

In all, The Remedy developed FreeForAll’s marketing and sponsorship sales collateral, website, press releases, print and digital ads, billboards, event posters, custom event tickets, and social media graphics. And the inaugural show ended up being a huge success, attracting a near-capacity crowd to Columbus Commons for an incredible party that kicked off the Labor Day holiday weekend in Columbus, OH, and set an impressive precedent for future FreeForAll Concert Series events.

Garret Morris’ Downtown Blues & Comedy Club

Garrett Morris’ Downtown Blues & Comedy Club opened as downtown Los Angeles’ only comedy club, Owned and operated by original Saturday Night Live cast member and co-star of CBS hit 2 Broke Girls Garrett Morris, the club hired The Remedy to assist it in repositioning and relaunching its brand with a more professional, hip new look and a vibe that fit with the funky, bluesy mood inside the club.

The Remedy started by suggesting a pivot from its initial generic Downtown Comedy Club name to a brand more closely tied to its iconic owner, Garrett Morris. It was also important to focus on the fact that the club also featured a blues element within each of its live shows. So in an area with so many clubs and venues trying to attract attention, why not just tell people what it was from the outset? What resulted was Garrett Morris’ Downtown Blues & Comedy Club. With the new name selected, The Remedy then set its sights on refreshing the brand. In addition to providing a new stage design inside the venue, The Remedy developed a new set of primary and secondary logos for Garrett Morris’ Downtown Blues & Comedy Club and also completely redesigned and relaunched the comedy club’s website. Further, The Remedy designed a new line of merchandise and developed several new marketing initiatives for the club, including an e-marketing campaign and a mobile marketing effort. Finally, The Remedy developed a comprehensive media relations plan for the club and began an aggressive publicity campaign for the first time in the company’s history.

The results were remarkable. The club hosted the Inaugural Blues & Comedy Festival during its opening weekend and played to sold out audiences during each performance. The festival culminated in a Grand Opening Gala on Saturday night, a red carpet event to celebrate the relaunch of the club’s repositioned identity that featured stand-up comedy veterans Luenell, Brett Butler, Jennifer Coolidge, Jonathan Kite, Justin Hires, Ron G., Vicki Barbolak, Leonard Robinson, and many more special guests (Coolidge and Kite made a special appearances in support of Morris, their co-star on 2 Broke Girls). Joining those talented comics were The Deacon Jones Blues Band and The Martin Guigui All Star Blues Band to usher in a festive new beginning for the veteran comedic icon.

Curcumin Pro

CurcuminPro launched as the world’s first curcumin-infused brand of nutritional products. Curcumin is a naturally-occurring chemical found in various plants that has long been thought to have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, along with many other health benefits such as protecting against types of colitis, stomach ulcers, and high cholesterol and helping to treat upset stomach, diabetes, depression, HIV, uveitis, and viral infections. However, curcumin has proven frustrating to scientists who state that it is unstable and not bioavailable, thus allowing it to pass through the system without absorbing and allowing those healthy benefits to take effect.

The developers of CurcuminPro found a solution with a patented process that combined the curcuminoid with a protein, thus allowing the body to absorb the compound into the bloodstream and ingest the healthy benefits of the curcumin, which became bioavailable with the protein combination. The company developed an entire line of supplements, chewables, drinks, drink mixes, meal replacement shakes, sugar free chocolates, jelly beans, and even pet products designed to provide essential health benefits to the body.

The Remedy worked with the company to build a new brand around the breakthrough product line. In addition to a product packaging concept that would stand out on store shelves, the company wanted to present the CurcuminPro line as one could provide great benefits to a wide range of people -- from athletes and weekend warriors to stay-at-home moms and seniors. The desired demo was basically 18-80, male and female, across all nationalities and financial profiles. And that was just for the portion of the product line meant for people, not pets.

We started with the concept of vibrancy -- if anything, everyone in the desired target demo could relate to vibrancy. So we moved forward with a vibrant orange color that earmarked the brand (and was similar to the natural coloring of curcumin) and then developed a simple product packaging concept that included one panel of close-up, vibrant imagery to contrast the rest of the non-descript packaging and represent the flavor or key ingredient of each product. Then we moved to the brand itself and its key marketing assets, all of which included vibrant, close-up, colorful imagery of healthy people on the move but still within the confines of everyday life, careful not to position the brand too far into an athletic supplement line. In the end, CurcuminPro enjoyed a successful launch as a complete line of healthy living nutritional supplements that stood out among the thousands of existing supplement brands because of its sharp look and exciting brand profile.

GAB Voice Technology

GAB Voice Technology, through its virtual assistant Gabby, launched as the world’s first personal voice assistant developed specifically for the sports, entertainment, and gaming industries. Gabby gives voice to the fan, but, just as importantly, provides a natural way for team or venue management to implement technology within an organization, creating a truly “conversational platform” to quickly collect and query information and receive real-time feedback and updates.

Gabby and the GAB Voice Technology Platform provide real-time, transactional access to tickets, concessions, merchandise, parking, navigation, and exclusive content. Gabby tears down pre-existing barriers and allows both fans and team and venue management access to all of the information they need in one place, through a frictionless experience.

The Remedy assisted in the development of the GAB Voice Technology Platform, helping to position an existing voice technology platform to one specifically for the sports and entertainment space. And serving as expert advisors in the sports and entertainment space within the technology group, which had little to no experience in sports and entertainment.

In addition to developing strategies and optimal use cases within the industry for the most impactful engagement, The Remedy developed a go-to-market strategy that included both the sports space (sports teams and venues) and the gaming space (casinos and mobile betting).

In addition to creating the GAB brand and positioning the established voice technology for a new use in sports and gaming, The Remedy established investment strategies, scripted and produced product videos, and designed the creative for a mobile app demo in order to get the GAB brand and technology in front of industry leaders in a form where they could see, touch, experience, and talk directly to Gabby. These assets proved invaluable in introducing what could at times be a difficult concept to a sector that badly needed a technological elevation.

While physiotherapy and strength-training professionals have long-used similar tools to treat and train athletes, never before have such tools been coupled with technology and an analytics engine in order to not only serve the treatment and strengthening function, but also to provide a qualitative assessment of the data derived from an athlete’s user session, thus allowing doctors, physiotherapists, trainers, coaches and care givers the ability to not only better treat an injured athlete, but also the opportunity to apply an individual’s baseline data with the newly gleaned user-session data, all within IST’s proprietary algorithm, in order to predict the chance of future injuries based on the athlete’s specific anatomical structure.

The Remedy was brought in to develop the company’s overall brand. We began with crafting a name that would succinctly tell the story of the brand, and then designed a dynamic logo to match the mood and vibe of the new brand. Additionally, because all of the company’s devices began as concepts, The Remedy provided conceptual drawings and renderings of each of the company’s new devices. These concepts and renderings utilized in investor presentations, manufacturing spec sheets, and marketing microsites.

By combining critical diagnostic functionality with smart technology and data analytics, IST has developed the future of sports performance and sports medicine. Big data is being used in almost all aspects of life, and it has proven to be the next big thing in the world of sports. IST’s Ankle360 and NECKxt DEFENSE devices are ahead of even that curve, changing the face of performance, training, and rehabilitation for athletes of all ages, genders, and skill level. Never before have core dynamic training applications met real-time data tracking and analytics. The Dallas Sports Commission is the most prestigious and impactful sports organization in Dallas that locals may not have ever heard of. But they’ve definitely enjoyed the fruits of the Sports Commission’s labor.

When mega-events like the Super Bowl, the Final Four, the NFL and NHL Drafts, College Football Playoff games, and Team USA events come to Dallas, they come based on the behind-the-scenes work of the Dallas Sports Commission. When tens of thousands of youth athletes and their parents fill downtown hotels and restaurants for weekslong volleyball and cheerleading events, it’s thanks to the hard work and dedication of the Dallas Sports Commission. When local high school football teams have the opportunity to play a game in the legendary Cotton Bowl Stadium or when local spelling bee champions get to live out their dreams and dominate the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C. or when local Dallas community basketball courts are resurfaced as part of efforts to give back, it’s because the Dallas Sports Commission is dedicated to improving the quality of life of Dallas residents through sports and competition.

But as the agency was approaching its fifth year, it still had very little local brand recognition, despite events it hosted boosting the economy and bringing in tax dollars for local schools, roads, law enforcement, emergency responders, and recreational facilities, while also supporting the employment of thousands of Dallas residents.

The Remedy saw a natural opportunity with the Sports Commission’s upcoming 5-year anniversary milestone and developed strategies to introduce the brand locally and allow the Dallas Sports Commission to tell its story. The Remedy devised a campaign designed to share unique initiatives and experiences with the local community while driving engagement with and creating awareness around the brand. This consisted of monthly sports sweepstakes giveaways for major sports experiences and monthly themed social engagement campaigns, culminating with the release of a high-end coffee table book titled DREAM BIG. The book allowed the organization to not only tell the story of the first five years of its existence and promote some of the major sporting feats that occurred in Dallas during those years, but it also provided an outlook for the future of sports in Dallas.

To brand the campaign and its initiatives, The Remedy developed a 5-Year Anniversary logo that complemented the Sports Commission’s existing brand and attached it to every activation. The Dallas Sports Commission experienced significant increases in website and social traffic that could be directly attributed to the 5-Year Anniversary campaign. The website saw a 168%+ increases in users, sessions, and page views over the same period in the previous year. On social, Facebook impressions rose more than 116% and Instagram was up 256%, with the monthly giveaways and social initiatives driving the traffic increase. The organization also collected thousands of new emails to add to its outreach database during the course of the campaign, a great asset for promoting and marketing future initiatives and events.

Original Three Hundred

Original Three Hundred

For years during Texas History classes, Texas school children learned about the Old 300. These were an honest, hardworking people, with a handful of scurrilous fugitives mixed in, who were drawn to the Mexican state of Tejas and its rich bottomlands along the Colorado and Brazos Rivers. The promise? Land and the opportunity for a good life on a new frontier. They came as nearly 300 families and colonial settlers, the original Anglo families of Texas. They ended up setting the course of history, not only for Texas, but for the entire Western United States.

The Old 300 opened the door to western expansion and were the pioneers of the American West. They were farmers and stockraisers who made up the area’s first colonization of Americans. They transformed an unsettled wilderness that today stretches from Central Texas to the Gulf of Mexico and integrated the livestock practices of the American South with the Hispanic ranching tradition of old Mexico. Born from them was the trademark Texas ranching industry which quickly spread throughout the Western territories and still exists within many Western states. Other Texas firsts within the new colony included the first English and Sunday schools, the first Texas newspaper, and the roots of what would become the Texas Rangers law enforcement agency.

With much intrigue and sentiment around those Old 300 families and what their lives must have been like, The Remedy developed a brand around that historical era. The new brand -- called the Original Three Hundred -- would include various products for modern consumption which would harken back to an earlier time when the West was still wild and the Texas had still yet to become a republic.

Partnering with local entrepreneurs, The Remedy developed brand stories around numerous items under the Original Three Hundred brand, including a whiskey, tequila, sangria, margarita mix, coffee, restaurant, and barbeque sauce, all of which are in development. From that, a spirits production company evolved called 1823 Beverage Company, and a television pilot about the era was written and pitched for production.

Not only did The Remedy come up with the brand story for each product and business entity, but it also produced all of the product packaging concepts, branding logos and marks, branded merchandise and apparel, and pitch decks for each of the products and concepts.

IFL On Stadium

IFL On Stadium

In 2021 Stadium, a multi-platform sports network featuring exclusive live and on-demand games and events, extensive highlights, classic games, original programming, and daily live studio programming, and the Indoor Football League announced a ground-breaking multimedia rights partnership to distribute the IFL’s Game of the Week nationally on Stadium, as well as worldwide via Stadium’s digital platforms. Also, for the first time in American professional team sports, the live game broadcasts would incorporate real-time gamification within the broadcast experience.

As the IFL prepared for the exciting new national television package, The Remedy was tasked with developing branding around the initiative, as well as a graphics package for the broadcasts that would be aligned with the branding elements.

The Remedy started with developing branded logos for IFL on Stadium and the IFL Game of the Week. Additionally, the team at The Remedy created a complete broadcasting design package with an opener, studio features, scoreboards, lower-thirds, information boxes, player feature boxes, and player comparison graphics, among other on-air graphics. Many of the on-screen graphics also included a variety of animation effects used to promote pertinent information and game stats, as well as shifting to a team branded look whenever touchdowns were scored. The scoreboards were designed to be able to be sized to different dimensions accommodate additional data and information when needed, with scores also displayed, when going to or returning from a commercial break, on a larger, sidebar style look with oversized numbers.

Though the dynamic graphics package was designed to be able to shift color palettes as needed to reflect those of the participating teams, the base look was a combination of red and blue of the IFL and the silver and black of Stadium. The new graphics package gave the game broadcasters a professional look, helping to raise the bar for the fledgling league.
