Worthy bowls adversaries meet on the greens
Worthy bowls adversaries Paul Kershaw and Tadgh Waugh took to the Golfie greens on Saturday and fought to the very end in their Singles Championship match. Waugh led for 19 ends and the difference between them varied from five shots on the sixth end to just three shots on the 16th, still in favour of Waugh. At one stage the scores were 13-all; a valiant effort from Kershaw brought the game to a 19all draw again on the 23rd end; and by the 26th end, it was 22 points each. Talk about tenacity, neither player was ever going to concede defeat. Finally Kershaw sealed the deal with a three point win on the 28th end and won the final end to finish as a +1 victor which takes him through to the next round. It was an absolute thriller of a game with none of the spectators taking their eyes off of the green.
