入学式 2019年9月4日、スピーカーズ・ホールにニューヨーク学院関 係者及び在校生が集い、新入生の入学を祝い2019-2020年度 をスタート致しました。希望に満ちた新入生の入場行進､着席 後入学式が挙行されました。まず、タウンゼント学院長から、 「学院の大改革をどのように進めていくのかについて」､「改革の 焦点は、ハウスシステムの履行により寮生活の改革を行うこと にある」､「寮の範例としてハウスシステムを全学年縦割り制にす る。これは、通学生にも適用する。自己認識を深めることにより、 調和が保て、目標に掲げる共同体意識を育むことになるからであ る。」との式辞がありました。続いて、長谷山塾長が、今回の教育 改革によって、グローバル社会の先導者を育成できることを心よ り願っているとの祝辞を述べました。当学院理事長の國領慶應 義塾常任理事から、阪田奨学金12年生の受給者が発表されま した。高らかな塾歌斉唱で、式典は幕を閉じ、引き続きオリエン テーションが行われました。
Entrance Ceremony On September 4, 2019, the entire school community gathered in the Speakers’ Hall to welcome the new students and celebrate the start of the 2019-2020 academic year. The event began with the procession of excited new students, who took their seats in the auditorium. The ceremony address was delivered by the President, Dr. Townsend. In his speech, Dr. Townsend explained how the academy was undergoing major reforms. A key focal point of these reforms was in the area of boarding with the implementation of a house system. This boarding paradigm vertically integrates all grades into a series of houses, which incorporates commuters as well. The goal is to foster a close-knit community, which achieves harmony through a better sense of self-awareness. The congratulatory speech was given by the President of Keio Gijuku, Professor Haseyama. President Haseyama stated how he fervently wishes that these educational reforms will nurture individuals who can easily navigate and lead in a global society. Professor Kokuryo, a Vice President of Keio Gijuku and Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of Keio Academy, announced the Sakata Scholarship winners in the senior class. After an uplifting performance of the Keio Alma Mater, the Entrance Ceremony transitioned to a brief orientation session.
