入学準備プログラム 2019年8月27日、本年度の新入生を迎え、キャンパスは活気づきました。 数か月に及ぶ準備を経て､ 生徒ヘルパーや担当教員によって、新９年生、新10 年生は大歓迎されました。８５名の新入生は、寮生 活、学業等、ニューヨークでの学院生活全般に順応できるよう６日間のプログラムに参加しました。 生徒は、本学院ならではの教育環境に少しでも早く慣れるよう自立した生活を強調した綿密なスケ ジュールをこなし、各ワークショップでは、学業、健康管理、そして寮生活について学びました。プリエ ントリー中の６日間、新入生同士が、打ち解けやすいイベントが種々企画され、お互いを知るチャンス ができ、親睦を深めました。このプログラム終了時での新入生の笑顔は、始業日にもきっと見られるこ とでしょう。
Pre-Entry Program On August 27, 2019, the Keio Academy campus sprang to life with the arrival of this academic year’s new students. With months of preparation completed and student helpers and staff in place, the academy eagerly welcomed these ninth and tenth grade students with open arms. The 85 new students spent six days acclimating themselves to all aspects of their school environment including boarding, academics, and living in New York. The students were led through a rigorous schedule of sessions that emphasized independent living and were designed to ease their transition to the academy’s unique educational environment. Various workshops focused on academic success, wellness issues, and navigating life at a boarding school. Throughout the six days, there were also many ice breakers designed to allow the students to get to know each other and to create lasting bonds of friendship. By the end of the pre-entry program, the smiling faces of the new students were a great indicator of future success as they began their first day of class.
