_______________________________________ Mechanical assemblies Tailpiece assembly The tailpiece assembly (Fig. 41) attaches to the discharge end of the feeder breaker frame. It consists of a return belt pulley, an impact bed, and tilt and steering cylinders. The belt runs around the belt pulley and over the impact bed. The tilt and steering cylinders are used to position the tailpiece to correct for misalignment between the belt and the feeder breaker. The tailpiece assembly, when attached to the feeder breaker, provides a means for quickly advancing and tensioning the belt.
