_______________________________________ Adjustment procedures Secondary valve bank relief adjustment The secondary valve bank (Fig. 77) is fitted with a relief in the inlet section. The designed setting is 2,250 psi. Two people are required to adjust the pressure setting. One person must operate the foot cylinder valve handle on the secondary valve bank and adjust the relief valve cartridge. The second person will relay pressure gauge readings to the mechanic making the adjustment and will be ready to shutdown the machine via the panic bar, if necessary. WARNING! Two people are required to adjust the pressure setting. One person must operate a stabilizer cylinder valve handle and adjust the relief. The second person must remain at the panic bar at all times during the adjustment procedure. Failure to do so may result in serious injury or death. Measure the setting of cartridge by fully retracting (deadheading) the foot cylinders, then reading the pressure on “AUXILIARY PRESSURE #3”gauge while the cylinder is deadheaded. The reading should be 2,250 psi. WARNING! Use caution when retracting foot cylinders. When tension is release off of the belt pulley, the feeder breaker may lurch forward. Make sure all personnel are clear of the machine when performing this procedure. Loosen the jam nut on the relief cartridge by turning out (ccw). Turn the adjustment screw in (cw) to increase the setting and out (ccw) to decrease the setting. Once the correct setting is obtained, tighten the jam nut by turning in (cw) while holding the adjustment screw in place.
